Just a few iPhone photos today...  It's spring in my neck of the woods!  Finally!  These were all taken at our local park last week.  I love the forest in early spring, when the marsh marigolds and skunk cabbage begin to appear.  That green is nothing short of glorious!  I am a happy camper.  ;)

Mosaic Monday: Parrot Tulips

I think I may have missed the ranunculus season this year, but I managed to find some parrot tulips last week, which I promptly brought home to brighten the kitchen and ultimately to photograph.  :)

So, until we get a few more spring-like days here in New Jersey, I will be shooting cut flowers.  And after this winter, I cannot wait to go on some garden visits this summer!  As you can probably tell, I'm running out of things to post about here.  ;)

Mosaic Monday: Blue Hyacinths

Making little still life creations with old books and flowers has become sort of my "thing."  When it's cold and dark and snowy, I pick up some flowers at the supermarket, and they get me through the winter doldrums.  Last week, I found these beautiful hyacinths, and they have been perfuming the entire house.  They started out blue, but faded to a sort of pale lilac as the week went on.  Finally, after five days of enjoying their sweet scent, I decided that I needed to take some photos.  The weathered "table" is actually a foam-backed photo by Sarah Gardner -- one of her
 Beachwood Textured Papers.  The book belonged to my mother, and the shells were collected on our trip to California this February.  The blog board comes from EW Couture.
