OK, here's how far I got with the Christmas decorations -- a few of them are sitting in a jumble on the kitchen table, and I have to move them every time we sit down to a meal!
I have replaced the turkey dishes with a few Christmas ones, and put out a red tablecloth.
That's it so far.
Arggghhh!
Love seeing your start on decorating. I love the painted pot holding the little Christmas tree. Did you make that yourself? I know what a messy table holding lots of odds and ends for the holidays is like. I am doing well though and starting to see the top of my table once again.

Your "jumble" is a better start than my best efforts! I love the things you've shown so far. Please keep my inspiration flowing :-)
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen the top of my dining table since Thanksgiving! I have a delightful, plaid Christmas cloth to go on the table, if ever I get it cleared away again. "JUMBLE" isn't the right word for MINE....it's more like "MESS" ! I love all your red berries...some of my favorite things to use during the Christmas season. I am going today to find a little potted tree, with red berries, for my sofa table.
ReplyDeleteWe have a tiny tree which I so wanted to put on a pretty table (like the Mackenzie-Childs one) but couldn't find a table...I am using an antique drop leaf for this yr.

Don't pressure yourself! I was all excited about decorating for Christmas and then I got out the boxes and had an instant feeling of being overwhelmed! I decided to make it fun and take my time. I have the boxes in the basement where I can access them at my leisure and do a little here and there. I also dug out all my old Christmas magazines and go through them at night for ideas. I love your red transferware platter and that beautiful copper pot with berrries in it! You have a great eye, I can't wait to see what you do:>)
ReplyDeletehehehe... atleast its just your table top, for me, its my entire formal living room floor! :) Your Chirstmas treasures look so wonderful! I cna't wait to seee them all in their cozy homes!

Mary,
ReplyDeleteI love coming over to your blog and seeing the most beautiful tablescapes that you create and such great pictures you take! I love all the red, one of my favorite colors!
Well, happy decorating! I'm just starting myself.
Hugs,
Donna
We are going to start decorating this weekend Dec. 1. So I have all week to not think about it!

p.s. I recommend Gristie's Rte 611 near rte 32 in Kintnersville, PA.
Three floors and lots of neat things. I could have spent hours...
Your decorations are looking good Mary.

I'm familiar with the Christmas jumble. I have several piles. My husband decided to clean the garage this week and he glares at me as I drag yet another box from the attic.
ReplyDeleteNan
As always- such lovely elegant photos. I love the berries!
ReplyDeleteLooks great to me just the way it is. You can't seem to turn off those table top skills even when you are not thinking about it!
ReplyDeleteI love what you've done so far. And I know what you mean about being jumbled. The painted pot is darling.
ReplyDeleteWill you post your pictures soon or are you waiting for Karla's party on the 12th to post them?
Love,
Julie
Mary compliments are preparing very beautiful decorations, those suggestions that will give us good week! Embrace
ReplyDeleteI did the same thing this weekend. Put away all the fall stuff and got out on my table all the Christmas stuff to see what I had. Most of it is still on the table! I'll distribute it eventually.
ReplyDeleteWow, it's all so beautiful! I love the red transferware platter!
ReplyDeleteHi Mary,
ReplyDeleteI'm at the opposite end of the spectrum...my house looks like Christmas attacked! I can't wait to see all of your decorations, I just know it will be homey and beautiful :)
Hugs,
Dena

Oh Mary, you do make me laugh! Your little piles do look very sweet though, and I have no doubt that once you shake your tail feather into action, your home will be elegantly festive. You have such great style, I can't wait to see how it all turns out!

Mary, your decorations are pretty, jumbled or not! You're not alone, I think everybody's tables are jumbled right now, mine included :) Michelle
