Here are a few more shots, taken with the new camera. I still haven't cracked the manual open, but I've already taken close to 150 pictures. Anyway, these are some of my favorites. Who would have thought that my failure to put away the dishes from Christmas dinner would turn into a photo opportunity? That's my story and I'm sticking with it.
I'm still taking down Christmas decorations, and coughing my brains out. Can you tell that January is not my favorite month? It was 60 degrees here yesterday, though, which made up for a lot! We're supposed to hit 70 today, so I'll be outside enjoying the weather, and the rest of the Christmas decorations will just have to wait another day.
Have a wonderful day!
Well I have a little something that might make you feel better.
ReplyDeleteYou always have something lovely here. Such lovely dishes, and the photos look great. I have something to give away to you today. I have an award on my post for you. Stop by with a cup of tea and take it home. Blessings, Karen
Hi Mary
ReplyDeleteYour camera takes beautiful pictures! I was never into photography very much until I got my digital camera, I need the instant gratification of seeing what I took right away I guess. But since I got one I use it every day. I have had it 2 or 3 years and still havent read the manual all the way through. I have looked at a few pages that explained some problems but recently I have been thinking I need to see what else I could be doing with my camera that I dont know about! So I think one of these cold winter nights I'll crack open that manual and take a look. It could point me in a whole new direction with my photographs:>)Take care of that cold, lots of hot liquids:>)
Good Morn Mary! Enjoy your day!
ReplyDelete:) Abbie

Hi Mary,
ReplyDeleteI'm loving your pictures and those dishes are so so pretty! Hope that cough simmers soon. My hubby is barking through the night with his and says he feels like his head is going to pop off. It's a nasty one :(
Hugs,
Dena
OK Mary, now you've gone and done it. I spotted a Pink Willow plate and you instantly sent me back in time to my grandmothers dining room. She had a full set of Pink Willow dinnerware and a large wall hanging printed in the design. How wonderful...what wonderful memories. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteHi Mary... those are beautiful dishes! Have fun playing with your new camera!
ReplyDeleteBlessings!

A kindred spirit! It never occurs to me to read any manual for anything I buy! My Mom has been coughing and they said at the doctor's that there is a virus going around. Maybe that's what you have. We live in Califonia, but you could have the same thing. I love your red toile dishes!!!!!
ReplyDeleteFeel better!
Hi Mary - I love your pictures also. What kind of camera did you get? I've only had a digital since last March but wonder what I did without one.
ReplyDeleteYour home is gorgeous.
It's 65 in northern NJ right now...
Hope you're feeling better.
Joan
Fabulous photos, Mary! We're enjoying temperatures in the 50's today ... not bad for January! ~ hugs, Lynda xo

ReplyDeleteSorry to hear the cough continues, Mary. I hope you're feeling better soon.
ReplyDeleteI love the transferware dishes too. I have a large collection in blue.
Beautiful dishes, but it's that GORGEOUS soup tureen that has me all in a spin!
ReplyDeleteAmanda (aka Cottage Contessa)
Hi Mary!
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful that we have the same birthday! I absolutely love your photographs!!! How beautiful!
Hope you have a speedy recovery!
Amanda:)
Hi Mary,
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures! Hope you enjoyed your day outside in the warm weather, I sure did!
I've still got a tickle in my throat too and just cough, cough, cough.
Take care,
Hugs,
Donna
I love your dishes and your pictures are wonderful...you must be really enjoying your new camera. Have fun snapping away:). Linda
ReplyDeleteYour pictures are great! Why is that everyone elses pictures always seem to turn out better than my own...maybe I'm my own worst critic..or else I need photography lessons. Anyways, looks great!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos. Great china.
ReplyDeleteWho needs a manual anyway?
Barbara
Come see what I have been playing with... I just can't seem to get it right. Need some help.
ReplyDeleteO like your red transferware....I hope you are feeling better!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Robin
Hi Mary,
ReplyDeleteMy brother just recently gave me a transferware soup tureen and I believe it is the same pattern as yours. Do you happen to know the pattern name? I haven't had any luck in tracking it down. Cammy
Take care of yourself dear Mary!
ReplyDeleteYou DO take lovely photos and no one would begrudge you being outside shooting all those pretty pictures this week! The decorations can wait!
I still have not read my manual and I have had my camera for 9 months! Now THAT is bad huh?
I hope your coughing is at an end soon. Mine is just now winding down. IT seems to take so long...be good to yourself! You deserve it!
Hugs,
Sue
Wonderful photos! Yes -- I need a camera too -- and was wondering what kind of camera you are using now? Thanks for any information!
ReplyDeleteJan at Rosemary Cottage who is looking for cameras in all the wrong places .... LOL!
Jan, My husbad chose the camera -- it's a Nikon D40. It's a digital SLR, and comes with a wide angle and a zoom lens. It has an automatic setting and manual also. I've only used the automatic so far, ad I find it very easy to use.
ReplyDeleteHope this helps.
xoxo,
Mary
Mary, your pictures are beautiful! I'm still playing too with a new digi that I got and I can't quite get it down pat - of course I haven't read the manual either... hmm, what ARE all of those buttons for? ;-)
ReplyDeletexo,
Kim
Mary, you are bad like me. I too got a great new camera for Christmas, and it's so intuitive, I haven't yet pored over the manual, but I shall. I was sad to see the Christmas decor come down, but glad to see it crisp and clean again. --Kevin
ReplyDeleteOh, drool! Happy dance!
ReplyDeleteA fellow transferware lover! And red, too! I love your photos and collection. I have a rather *ahem* large collection of red transferware myself. Love it!
What a great blog you have here. I've added you to my links on my site.
Sarah :)
