Hello, My Pretties

First of all, thanks so much to everyone who participated in Mosaic Monday.  I had such a great time visiting you all and seeing your wonderful mosaics!

Today I wanted to show you a few pretties I got at an estate sale last week.  This was a three-day-sale, with loads of beautiful dishes and silver.  Of course, I couldn't pass up the milk glass dish (above).

And then I saw this Limoges serving dish, with a beautiful reticulated edge.  Yes, it was really calling my name.  I heard it.

I know dishes are supposed to be functional, but I bought this one just because it's so beautiful.  Do you ever do that?  This is one of those things that I could just stare at.

Yes, I need to tweak my meds.

Finally, this little milk glass vase.  It's about three inches high, and just too cute.  I have to admit that I actually went back the second day and got a few more things.  I'll show them to you later in the week.  I'm also getting together a giveaway for my 500th post.  More on that, too.

Have a great week, dear bloggers!

  1. When they call your name, you must comply. It would be cruel not to take them home with you.

    Each piece is so pretty.

I made my first mosaic yesterday. I'll be posting it next Monday. It looks adequate to me, but hopefully I will improve. ;-)

  3. Wow what a find. They are all things I would love.
My china cabinet is full. Of course there is always a little room left. Haven't been able to do the mosaic yet, but I will keep trying.

  6. Oh, I agree that when we hear our name the minute we get to the sale, it is rude and cruel to even TRY to ignore them!! :O)

  7. When those precious finds whistle at you and shout, "Yo, Mary! Over here!" --- Well, you just must obey.

And I think that Limoges piece IS useful; it will keep you occupied and out of mischief whilst you gaze upon it!

    Happy chilly Tuesday!

  8. Pretty pretty pretty - I had a lot of milkglass one time - and then got rid of it - now I wish I hadn't. I also got rid of a couple sets of dishes -and you guessed - now I want them back. Can't wait to see what else you bought - you have such marvelous taste.
