This has been a very green summer here in New Jersey. Usually at this point in August, all the grass is looking rather burnt, and the leaves on the trees start to look a bit dusty. But we've had over 24 inches of rain in the last three months, and everything is green.
Really green.
We've been trying our best to take advantage of the beautiful scenery, and walk as much as possible. There are several really wonderful parks near our home, and also trails through some nature sanctuaries. And even a walk around the corner boasts some lovely sights, such as the grass-covered path, above.
And I've also been trying my best to keep from complaining about the weather, which has been a tad bit... shall we say... humid. Oh yeah, the grass is green, and the rest of us are all growing mold.
But I'm not going to complain. ;)

Your pictures are gorgeous! New Jersey is looking tropical right now, including my garden.
ReplyDeleteOh I love the green!
ReplyDeleteI love your green mosaic, Mary. And especially the story behind it. I'm growing mold here too in Maryland, but you all in NJ have had much more rain than us. Still, you're right. The grass is usually all burnt up by now and looking quite drab. It really is lovely and green. Even if I am a tad bit sweaty. (read really sweaty ~ we have no AC).
ReplyDeleteI can't believe I remembered this week.
Gorgeous mosaic, Mary! Dreamy!
ReplyDeleteMy second link is right. I don't know how to take the one with dog n suds off. It goes to the right post. Just the wrong name!
Hey Mary!
ReplyDeleteThe colors in this photo mosaic are so beautiful and vivid....I can almost smell the woods from here. Oh how I'd love to walk that green grass path, and barefooted! LOL! Happy Mosaic Monday...
Big Hugs,
Queenie
Mary,
ReplyDeletethat mosaic is stunning!!! Green is so soothing. I simply love the larger photo of the four. Sooo very pretty.
Have a wonderful Monday,
Tam
Hi Mary! What a beautiful mosaic! Everything looks so lush and green! We've had a lot of rain, too...no more drought! Happy week!...Debbie
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures. We too, in the Kansas City area are surrounded with LOTS of green that we just aren't used to in Aug. But unlike our normal 85% humidity with 100 degree weather we have been turning off our AC a lot this summer. We figure we may never see this in our life time again...don't remember one before...drink it in...
ReplyDeleteBah, my dates got all screwy because I published early - can you delete my #12 Mary? Sorry about that!
ReplyDeleteThat is one gorgeous mosaic! Green is my absolute favourite colour, and that just makes me happy to look at it. Gorgeous!
This is so very pretty!
ReplyDeleteblessings,
d
Your mosaic looks as green as early spring! Thing went from brown to green here lately also with some recent needed rains. It has been a cooler than usual summer and I think the grass likes that too!
ReplyDeleteYEP, very humid...but at least BILL didn't smack us around! The ocean is ferocious today!
ReplyDeletePretty mosaic, Mary..I did greens too, another kind though..
Thanks for hosting...
I loved your self picture, you look like a college girl!!
I think your weather was similar to ours, and yes, the lawns are very green. Lovely mosaic.
ReplyDeleteSame here in RI. Our grass has never been greener!
ReplyDeleteBeing fro WA that should be my pictures. But we have had hardly any rain and my lawns are brown. Beautiful pictures. So lush Sharon
ReplyDeleteHi Mary,
ReplyDeleteYes, you are right, it looks like Ireland instead of the Northeast this August. We are having more rain as I write this comment. I love your mosaic, and the greens look beautiful. I wonder what all this rain will do to the apple trees this fall.
Have a lovely Mosaic Monday.
Karen
Thanks for hosting Mosaic Monday! I've posted for the first time. I'm thinking Christmas!
ReplyDeleteI love the shades of green. Very calm and soothing. I hope we can also have a green environment through recycling! Great mosaic, Mary!
ReplyDeletegorgeous and lush - enjoy the green because soon we will all be missing it. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, I wish I could walk down that path.... It looks so calm and peaceful. Lovely close-ups of the flowers, too.
ReplyDeleteAt least there's an upside to the rain! (Beautiful mosaic....)

ReplyDeleteGreenery is one of my all time favorites!!

Carolyn
Just lovely, Mary. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteAnd, your self-portrait is awesome.
I tried leaving a comment on another browser but it didn't "take". I just wanted to say that the color green was my favorite color. And it's been green here in Maryland too. I want to take a photography class one day...
ReplyDeleteLove the green mosaic. Thank you for hosting. Your self portrait is great.
ReplyDeletevery green here in kentucky too. lovely mosaic.
ReplyDeleteGrowing mold, that made me chuckle. We have been very wet here too this year and everything still looks so lush when normally in August it looks a bit sun dried crispy. Beautiful mosaic.
ReplyDeleteAAHHH...time for a lone walk through the woods. Collecting thoughts, nature's little treasures, and visiting with the Creator of them all.
ReplyDeleteLovely ;-)
Green? GREEN? We are covered in GREEN. Our grass is up to our knees 3 days after its mowed! No parched August here in NJ, that's for sure!
ReplyDeleteLovely dreamy pictures in your Mosaic. And -- your self-portrait in the previous post was lovely. You look like a CHILD. :-)
And as for me, and who I am -- I'm still trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up, and not having much luck at that. Really.
Cass
Mary, that is beautiful. I just want to talk a stroll down that lush green path. laurie
ReplyDeleteBeautiful greens! Thanks for hosting Mosaic Monday each week. I am having so much fun!
ReplyDeleteMy Mosaic Monday
We've had an unusually green (and humid) summer here in Tennessee, as well. I'm not going to complain, either, despite the swarms of mosquitoes. Last summer was SO hot and dry that just having something ALIVE to look at through my kitchen window is a blessing!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful mosaic, greens are my all time favourite colour.
ReplyDeleteGreen is my favorite color, bar none!!! I'm enjoying the summer greens so much, even though there is much hard work associated with it too!
ReplyDeleteLove your mosaic and thanks for being such a gracious hostess. . .
Gorgeous greens in your lovely mosaic this week. Those of us who live in Southern California are missing that color in our gardens after our minimal rainfall this year. I've shared one mosaic at Sacred Ruminations and am about to post a second at Small Reflections because I love creating and sharing mosaics. Actually, I share mosaics most days on all three of my blogs ... just because ;--)
ReplyDeleteHugs and blessings,
East Texas is a hot-bed of humidity. Thus all the pine trees flourish. So I think I've probably already grown rather "moldy!" Love your pic of the forest-like view of the woods!
ReplyDeleteBrenda
Love the overall softness of this photo Mary ... gorgeous, soothing green. :)
ReplyDeleteYour mosaic is so pretty. I love it. It is so soft!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous greens in your Mosaic Mary ♥
ReplyDeleteBeautiful mosaic, I love the Summertime woodland geenery. :O) Mary @Boogieboard Cottage
ReplyDeleteVery restful pic. x
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and serene.
ReplyDeleteGreen and humid are two well used words here too, Mary. I'm trying not to complain either because I know it ends all too quickly.
ReplyDeleteWonderful mosaic : )
Wow, that is so beautiful! The hills around here are all brown this time of the yearin the wild west (although we refer to them as "golden" to make ourselves feel better). I'm looking forward to when our rainy season starts again, which isn't until October if we're lucky!
ReplyDeleteThis is my first time to participate in MM. I hope to learn more and join in again.
ReplyDeleteHi Mary; What lovely photos, your mosaic is beautiful.. I love the tree lined path,,
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.
Hugs;
Alaura
