You know that feeling you get when something just calls your name? Over the years, I've gotten that feeling with transferware, and silver gravy boats, and milk glass. Lately, it's been copper. I've begun to pick up a few pieces at rummage sales and at HomeGoods. I just love how it warms up my kitchen.
I seem to be drawn to the color black as well. In tole trays and anything made of wire. I just found these cute little wire candle sticks in the thrift store for $1.50 each.
I love everything you have put together here. It is so warm and cozy. Each piece works together beautifully. I could look at this all day. I especially love that shelf. I'm afraid to decorate too much in my small kitchen because it's so hard to keep dusted and clean.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful copper kettles! Really lovely arrangement! Wishing you a grand day! CAthy
ReplyDeleteCopper is very special in a kitchen! If I had the room I would have a collection of it too. Yours looks like it belongs!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful :)

Hi Mary! I'm foaming over your new obsession! The copper looks so pretty up against your gorgeous olden black trays! I feel a pot rack calling your tiny name! :)
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Beautiful. It adds so much warmth.

Those copper pots are beautiful Mary! And a rack might be just the thing if the collection is to grow. I was very lucky to inherit a couple of copper pieces when my MIL downsized her house. She bought them in France years ago when she was on her honeymoon. We now keep the largest one next to the fireplace.
ReplyDeleteI love your copper pieces, and your beautiful trays....Kathy
ReplyDeleteI love the combination of black and copper. Your house looks so pretty and cozy. You need to come over and help me decorate...
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
Your vignettes are just gorgeous. I love the copper and the black. They are so pretty together. Beautiful. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteI love, love, love your style! So lovely. And I adore copper too.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful grouping...I like the pewter mixed in as well....blessings
ReplyDeleteHi Mary. The copper looks fabulous with the black! Loved it. Great job! The only thing I dislike about copper is that it's hard to clean. Hope you have a happy day! Sincerely, Susan from writingstraightfromtheheart.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteYour arrangement is beautiful....and worthy of magazine publication...really! I wish I had read this post about 2 years ago, when I packed up a dozen really beautiful pieces of copper to give to the church attic sale, I would have loved to send them to you! Oh well...smiles.
ReplyDeletecopper is always so lovely and warm, just like you.
ReplyDeleteI have the pot rack, which I adore and I have a copper collection which I use all the time. Sometimes I polish and sometimes I prefer to leave it au naturel, depends on my mood and ambition, lol!
ReplyDeleteMary, this is such a beautiful arrangement of all these lovely things. I'm SO jealous about the wire candle sticks. You have much better thrifts than out there, that's for sure.
ReplyDeleteyou've inspired me to bring down my giant copper stock pot, shine it up,
ReplyDeletedisplay it by my fireplace with kindling.
thank you!
Oh sweet copper, I love it and have to have it. I think copper does more for a kitchen than anything else. Timeless and gorgeous whether it is newly polished or tarnished. I started my collection when we were living in Greece about 30 yrs ago and still love it today. You have some beautiful pieces and I would love to see more. It marries so well with the black. That too is another subject: I have started looking at black and adding around our home. Something has always told me it should be white because so many people paint white on everything. I like it, it's just not me, so good to see that I am not alone out here. Char
ReplyDeleteas in black wrought iron pot holder? Sounds like it would be nice, heavy but nice. Beautiful display.
ReplyDeleteThat is a lovely vignette...love the look your after there!

Oh what a great photo collection. I collect black tole trays too - great minds think alike!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy collecting
Leann
I just love your cabinets with the copper and the black tole trays. How cute the little gold frame is without anything any it. Waiting for a photo perhaps. Again, really pretty!
ReplyDeleteIf you love copper you should come here "Turkey" and buy various copper objects :) It's so common material, you can easly find places to get cleaning service. With this inspiration I'll post pictures of my tiny coppers soon (only some of them 'cause my mom still keeping my copper toys somewhere in her house:)
ReplyDeleteIt looks perfect with black.
And one more thing, using copper vase makes you flowers last longer ;)
Ahu
I totally agree, copper is beautiful! Must start a collection.
ReplyDeleteHelle:))
I have a ton of these laying around that I bought from Turkey years ago. I'll have to polish them up and display them!
ReplyDeleteDon't you just love collecting Mary? I do so love transferware and toile trays. The thing is, where to put it all! We don't have much room for storage so I try not to buy anything we won't use.
ReplyDeleteI like the copper and the way you decorate with it, but probably wouldn't even think of buy it for myself, mostly because I'd have to clean it! Yikes!
I have collected a little bit of copper and I know just how you feel, it's so warm and your's looks so lovely too! Cindy
ReplyDeleteloving that copper...how about some old copper molds and i love brown and white transferware now too
ReplyDeleteYes, copper is such a warm comforting metal. Your wall and counter arrangement are most attractive. It could be a beautiful painting! ~ Sarah
ReplyDeleteLove, love the wire candle sticks!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the post. I have over 60 copper items (trays, pots, pitchers, ketles, etc.) that have been handed down to me; you have inspired me with your groupings. Have a wonderful day!
ReplyDeleteMary, your pics just get better & better! Thanks for stopping by on the wallpaper discussion. Your house is one that does it right, it is perfect in your little red house.
ReplyDeleteMary, are you going to need a bigger home for all your collections? :-)
ReplyDeleteOh, yes. Yes, it would be nice.
ReplyDeleteYou have such wonderful taste, Mary. And I do think you may need a bigger place to keep all this in!
I just found your blog and love it! re: copper.
ReplyDeletemy kids bought me a copper pot wrack a few years ago for Christmas, and since then, I'm a copper collector, too. thanks for sharing!!!
Angela from NJ
Wow, I remember when I didn't care for copper. Many years ago now. You make it look so beautiful especially when displayed with the black. Joan
ReplyDeleteI love your post. I'm also a nut over china and glassware. I just can not seem to pass up a beautiful one. I have been collecting bass and copper for a while. I like to polish them for the holidays. What a job. Your collection and home is very nice. You have made them so warm and welcoming. A designer can take a house and make it stand out but not everyone can a house a home.
