I think I'm getting into a flowery rut with Mosaic Monday, but I just couldn't help posting about the wild roses that are blooming here right now. They usually bloom around June 1st, but they are a little early this year. I guess all that rain this spring moved the flowering schedule up a bit.
Or maybe it's global warming.
Anyway, these small white roses are ubiquitous here in my part of New Jersey right now, and their scent is nothing short of amazing. It follows us as we walk in the park, and it wafts in through the windows at night to perfume our dreams. I wish there was such a thing as a scratch and sniff blog, so that I could share this wonderful rose with you. :)
I'm trying a new linking system this week. I guess we will all be learning together. Let me know how you like it. :)
Now let's have some mosaic fun! Here are the instructions:
1. Publish your Mosaic Monday post.
2. Once it is published, click on the title of the post. This will lead you to the static link for your post. The static link is the page with only that post on it. Copy the url from your browser at the top of the page.
3. Paste the url into the appropriate inlinkz box in this post.
4. Type your name in the appropriate inlinkz box in this post.
5. Click on "Enter."
6. Please link back to this Mosaic Monday post so that your readers can find other wonderful mosaics.
That's all there is to it! It's always a good idea to then check and see if your link is working. If you have any questions, feel free to email me: mrcarroll(at)optonline.net.
Mary, love the wild roses. Your photos and mosaic are beautiful. I have been noticing a lot of these wild roses in the woods next to our house.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't mind the scratch & sniff aspect for blog flowers Mary! But I can imagine their rich fragrance and do love the layout of your mosaic.
ReplyDeleteJudith
I think I got the linky to work so it's find with me. for a minute there I thought I was in the wrong place..but not for long!

These are so beautiful...the pictures are amazing. I love the simplicity of white and green; it's so elegant, yet striking. Along with the different textures as backdrops/settings, it's very beautiful.
ReplyDeleteReally gorg Cathyeous roses!! I love the use of the watering can!!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, Mary...they are gorgeous! And what is that blooming in the background...the lovely blue? Gorgeous! lol Can you tell that beyond begonias and petunias, I am not much of a flower person down here in our red clay! Happy week!...hugs...Debbie
ReplyDeleteI'm with Confessions of a plate addict ... gorgeous mosaic! You're so talented Mary. Maybe one of these days I'll come close to the photos you present to us so frequently.

Gorgeous wild roses! Another stunning mosaic!
ReplyDeleteThere's no such thing as a flower rut...especially when they are presented so beautifully. The watering can is really a perfect vase and the bird bath a great setting. Wild Roses certainly make a statement in your mosaic. I hope my Texas Wildflower Weeds speak to you and the other Monday Mosaic Makers.
ReplyDeleteThe roses are lovely, but your photography makes them even more gorgeous, Mary.
ReplyDeleteI have wild roses growing all around my cottage, as well. Mine are of the pink variety, however. I've included them in my post.
Happy Mosaic Monday on Sunday! ;)
Liz @ the Brambleberry Cottage
I love your mosaic! And the fonts as well!
ReplyDeleteThe roses in the watering can is a perfect display of beauty!
Hi Mary, Guess flowers are the theme of the day :-) Lovely mosaic, and I do hope you can stop by mine...take care Anu.
ReplyDeleteWe have lots of pink wild roses blooming right now - mostly they are in ditches and fields but they are a lovely way to beautify our drive into town. :)
ReplyDeleteMary-I don't think you can ever post too many flowers! I went back and read your posts from the last couple of days. I'll have to read 2nd Chances. I had a very difficult transition when my last child left home (one of the reasons I started blogging) I didn't seem to have an identity (or so it seemed to me)any more. I had another "bump" in the road when our daughter got married and a sort of delayed reaction! Anyway, (as I babble on) I am learning to enjoy and embrace each new stage as it comes...and finding time for new interests! Glad you got your daughter to her destination. We mothers EARN every gray hair and then pay to cover them up :)
ReplyDeleteMary, your mosaics look like something I would see on one of the pages of my Victoria magazine. These are so lovely. A scratch and sniff blog, well maybe our kids will have that someday. Meanwhile I will close my eyes and imagine how lovely they must smell.
ReplyDeleteKaren
Absolutely beautiful!
ReplyDeleteSo wild and free and gorgeous!
I love metal water cans, especially when they have flowers in them. The blue on the can is a nice touch too. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful wild rose, and mosaic!

ReplyDeleteThese white roses are just lovely! Wish I could smell them, Mary.
Thanks for hosting us again & again. I'm having so much fun learning how to do this.
I would like the scratch and sniff gadget too. Love the mosaic. The watering can is so cute. Love the use of old rusted things among the flowers. Maybe you can tell me what picture #1 on the right side of my mosaic is. I don't know what that is called.
ReplyDeleteQMM
What? You can smell them? ;) I can... well, almost. Such beauty Mary... always -- thanks for hosting us weekly.
ReplyDeleteI like the link -- I have been using it on my blog for the past couple of weeks for Friday~~finding beauty. It is very reliable and I like the little thumb nails it has an option to do.

ReplyDeleteWhat a simply beautiful post. Your roses are gorgeous and I love that watering can!
ReplyDeleteHi Mary! I found that most of our plants bloomed earlier this year -- don't know why. But the wild roses out at the beach house (we were out this weekend) are not blooming yet. They look exactly like yours -- I love them but my father LOATHES them so we can't tell him that they have come up thru the hedges near the deck!
ReplyDeleteAnd my broken toe is MUCH better, thank you! I can get around amazingly well at yard sales again. . . .
Love the collage -- stay on the flower kick, it's so very pretty.
Cass
Mary, Love the beautiful wild roses. I do not have a green thumb but have learned alot about flowers and mosaics from Mosaic Mondays. Have a great week! ~Diana
ReplyDeleteThank you again for your beautiful site and for allowing us the opportunity to post images for Mosaic Monday. Sorry mine isn't technically a mosaic, I have to learn how to do that yet! Thank you - Jill from Life Images by Jill.

Erika
thanks, everyone. :)
ReplyDeleteQweenmothermawmaw -- the thing in the top right photo (and top left, too) is an old cement bird bath. It's cracked, so it won't hold water...

Hi, I'm sorry, I'm new to doing this and somehow I've messed up and posted twice, I've commented too about your lovely cottages and great photography but I don't know where that went. I'll get it right next time... I hope!
ReplyDeleteMary, you are truly the queen of mosaics. Every one you create is beyond description. You are an inspiration.
ReplyDeleteStunning mosaic. I came across your blog via a crafting friend, so I've taken part with a mosaic made of photos of the bouquet my husband gave me for our anniversary two days ago x
