What's for breakfast at your house this morning? I've been in a rut for the past few weeks -- a fiber bar and a glass of water. Looking back over these photos of breakfasts past has gotten me in the mood for something different -- something fresh and real and not processed and wrapped in foil... maybe a fresh fruit salad, or homemade banana bread, or blueberry pancakes...
Mmmm, blueberry pancakes. :)
This morning is an omelet filled with provolone cheese, tomatoes, mushrooms and spinach. A side of an english muffin toasted with butter and coffee.
ReplyDeleteLove the pics of your breakfasts. The jam looks delicious!
Wow, now I'm hungry! beautiful pictures.
ReplyDeleteOkay...let's go with that! But, what you have pictured looks delicious too, so you choose!
ReplyDeleteJust ate breakfast, cereal, buy yours sooo very yummy!. Blueberry pancakes sound great. Pictures are perfect.
ReplyDeleteAlmost time for breakfast!! I usually eat a bowl of oatmeal and finish up with a egg and cheese open-faced sandwich. I am stuck in a rut too but it keeps the blood sugar even.
ReplyDeleteYour breakfasts looked better than mine, although I love my oatmeal with a teaspoon of butter and 7 pecans! Sincerely, Susan
ReplyDeletei am not much of a breakfast person, but opened this post and got hungry. :D
ReplyDeleteMmm...lovely pictures!
ReplyDeleteMostly I have dry cereal and juice for breakfast during the week days. In winter I usually have oatmeal instead of cold cereal. I have to leave my house at 7:15 am for work, so I don't have much time for anything else. Weekends are when I spend more time at breakfast with my tea or coffee. I might make Belgian waffles, scones or we'll have egg in a basket and yogurt parfaits! Yummy!
Mmmmmmm . . . blueberry pancakes! Yum!
ReplyDeleteI don't do much breakfast. I find it always make me starving by lunchtime. I know ~ I know - it's the most important meal . . . yeah, well . . .
Only if we go out! then I do it RIGHT!
Have a great day. go fix something yummy. I'll be right over . . .
Karen
Oh what yummy pictures! Can I help you clean all that up Mary? xoxox
ReplyDeleteThe sun is is shining and as I am on half term break from school I had my breakfast outside. I made freshly squeezed organge juice from 4 oranges followed by a bowl of chopped banana, hadnful of nuts, dried fruit and topped with natural greek yoghurt. It was a wonderful start to the day.
ReplyDeleteAhhh, I remember some of those breakfasts...all in fact except for the honey dew melon one. We're in a rut here, too, because we're dieting. Ruts are just easier. Oatmeal, orange juice, and two slices of turkey bacon. I'd love some fresh fruit, too!
ReplyDeleteEven on weight watcher's I've had a bowl of cereal every morning - couldn't be without it.
ReplyDeleteBlueberry pancakes sound tempting though...
These are absolutely gorgeous photos. What lens/camera do you use??
ReplyDeleteWe did blackberry pancakes a few mornings ago, and French toast this morning; having house guests sharpens my culinary skills and ambitions. Even lunches have taken on new powers!
ReplyDeletewhen it's empty nest again, it will be back to yogurt and black coffee. Only not together.
Lovely photos!
LOVE your lighting.
Cass
Thanks, everyone!
ReplyDeleteErin, the top two photos were taken with a Nikon D40. The bottom two with a Nikon D300s. All were shot with a Nikkor 60mm f2.8 lens. Hope this helps. :)
It looks delectable, Mary! I eat the same cereal with fruit sliced over it every single morning, but don't tire of it. Your photos are always so lovely.

Dear Mary...I am somewhat sure that a fiber bar and glass of water would look delicious and substantial if you photographed it:)
ReplyDeleteas for me...I am in a rut too...everyday is fruit and plain yogurt...
i'm in a rut of poptarts lately because i've had a messed up sleep cycle
ReplyDeleteAnything placed on a beautiful dish will make breakfast taste better. It's usually Peanut Butter, homemade Jam on Dave's Killer Blues Bread toasted. Kind of boring but it's just the right amount of texture, sweet and filling! But seriously I would rather be eating the croissant in the first photo, but then too much of that would have devastating results!
ReplyDeleteWow..what a spread..lovely.
ReplyDeleteWow,
ReplyDeletequesto post stamani รจ molto delizioso !!
Buona giornata :-)
Oh Mary..your photos of breakfast look soooooo scrumptious!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhen I look at the jam I think of lovely Niagara on the lake, Ontario and the beautiful jams Ive purchased there! A little more than a month and we'll be there again..cant wait!!
Love your post!!
Deborah :)
Hi Mary - Oatmeal with walnuts is my favourite. I wonder if you can help me - both times I've tried to link to your mosaic lately a red x has appeared by my name. I just tried clicking on my name in your list and it took me to an earlier post (MAY 23RD) Any suggestions? Thanks Mary.
ReplyDeleteOh Mary it is 12 midnight and now I am starving to death. Some toast and strawberries would be good. Blessings

love the pictures - they sure invite you to take in the moment and enjoy the food. Generally keep it light during the week. The Mister loves a big breakfast on the weekend! Blueberries sound perfect!
