"I heard a bird sing
In the dark of December
A magical thing
And sweet to remember.
'We are nearer to Spring
Than we were in September,'
I heard a bird sing
In the dark of December."
- Oliver Herford
OK, so it's not quite December yet, but this bit of poem just felt right for these winter skies. I'm sure there must be some scientific explanation for it -- the fact that we seem to get the most beautiful and colorful sunsets in winter. So today is a tribute to a winter's sky.

What a sweet poem to such a lovely Mosaic, you should think about to make a book with a collection of your mosaics.
ReplyDeleteWe must have been on the same brainwave! I named my post November evening because I was enamored of the winter sunset too. Of course winter sunrises are some of my absolute favorites! I freeze myself plenty of mornings watching the whole sky turn pink.

ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, I need to be catching up on household chores (reluctantly ;) ,) after having had a lovely weekend of sheer idleness enjoying time in the garden and with my children who were home, visiting us, and so, much as I'd love to be looking through your archived posts, I must be disciplined! And get on with those beastly chores!
