Mosaic Monday: A Winter's Night

"I heard a bird sing
In the dark of December
A magical thing
And sweet to remember.

'We are nearer to Spring
Than we were in September,'
I heard a bird sing
In the dark of December."

- Oliver Herford

OK, so it's not quite December yet, but this bit of poem just felt right for these winter skies. I'm sure there must be some scientific explanation for it -- the fact that we seem to get the most beautiful and colorful sunsets in winter. So today is a tribute to a winter's sky.

Now let's have some mosaic fun! Here are the instructions:
1. Publish your Mosaic Monday post.
2. Once it is published, click on the title of the post. This will lead you to the static link for your post. The static link is the page with only that post on it. Copy the url from your browser at the top of the page.
3. Paste the url into the appropriate inlinkz box in this post.
4. Type your name in the appropriate inlinkz box in this post.
5. Click on "Enter."
6. Please link back to this Mosaic Monday post so that your readers can find other wonderful mosaics.
That's all there is to it! It's always a good idea to then check and see if your link is working. If you have any questions, feel free to email me: mrcarroll(at)optonline.

  25. We must have been on the same brainwave! I named my post November evening because I was enamored of the winter sunset too. Of course winter sunrises are some of my absolute favorites! I freeze myself plenty of mornings watching the whole sky turn pink.
I really love how the bare winter branches make such a lovely silhouette against that golden light.

  29. I've just found the link to your blog via Alison's blog and can see I'm going to enjoy visiting often from now on.

Unfortunately, I need to be catching up on household chores (reluctantly ;) ,) after having had a lovely weekend of sheer idleness enjoying time in the garden and with my children who were home, visiting us, and so, much as I'd love to be looking through your archived posts, I must be disciplined! And get on with those beastly chores!
