As the fields outside are filled with goldenrod, and the autumnal equinox approaches, bringing that golden light inside seems perfectly natural. We are creatures of the light, and we respond almost instinctively to golden flowers.
So, because the past few days were cool and rainy, a bunch of yellow roses came home from the supermarket with me.
It makes perfect sense, right? ;)
Happy almost-autumn, dear bloggers!
Love small roses like these and yours are beautiful. I just brought home white roses touched with green. Happy Fall!
ReplyDeleteLovely spot of sunshine on a gloomy day. We are so lucky to be able to just pop into the supermarket and bring home a bundle of colour. For me it's orange roses at this time of year.
ReplyDeleteHappy autumn to you too Mary! Your yellow roses are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteIt certainly does. They should take you gently into the new season...
ReplyDeleteHappy Autumn!...beautiful too.

So right! Yellow is the perfect colour to have brightening your beautiful home in the autumn. The roses are lovely!
ReplyDeleteI adore golden flowers--and the turning of the season. Such spectacular light, as is evident in your lovely photographs. The engagement ring my husband gave me is an antique cocktail ring with a golden citron stone, to commemorate the field of goldenrod where he proposed one late-summer evening. So romantic.
ReplyDeleteYou so just talked me into going out today to buy myself some yellow roses! Thing is I just can't buy flowers unless I clean the house first:(
ReplyDeleteGail, just clean the room that the flowers are going in.... Is that awful of me? lol
ReplyDeletesmallpeaceblog, your husband is obviously a man who understands the importance of romance! :)
happy Autumn to you Mary! Your roses are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteMary, Your roses are stunning, and they look great just where you placed them. I hope I get some roses this wknd for my 35th anniversary!
ReplyDeleteSee you for MM.
Blessings, Beth
Very pretty. The flowers make the room have a warm, cozy feel to it.
ReplyDeleteOh, I've been absent for too long and missed the loveliness of this post. That 2nd photo is heavenly, Mary. You have such an eye for composition and color.
