Mosaic Monday: In The Spirit

I was going to post some more photos from The Architect's Garden.  Truly I was.  And then, when I was looking through my archives, I came across these photos from my dining room last Christmas.  I am really not one of those organized, cheerful Martha Stewart types who puts all her Christmas decorations up on Thanksgiving weekend.  I'm more like one of those people who says, "Oh crap, I'd better get some decorations up before the season is over!"  But I thought maybe posting these pictures would help get me in the mood...  :)

So here you are.  I'm trying my best not to say "Bah, humbug."  Oh, and in case anyone is interested, the painted chest is from HomeGoods, the lamp is thrifted, and most of the cut glass belonged to my mother.  The milk glass and tole trays are all my fault.  Happy December.  ;)

Here are the instructions to join today's post:
1. Publish your Mosaic Monday post. The post may be about any subject you wish. The only stipulation is that it include a collage, or mosaic of photos.

And a quick reminder: if you would like to join Mosaic Monday but don't know quite where to start, there is a tutorial on mosaic-making on my sidebar. Just scroll down, and click on the small blue mosaic.

  2. I think your dining room from last year is lovely. I promised myself that I would not be in a hurry to decorate this year and that's a good thing ... everything I pick up seems to have a memory attached!

  6. All the sparkling glass is very attractive. I'm taking the decorating slowly this year - a few things are up, the tree will wait until next week. Hope you get into the spirit of the season!

  10. Well, it has been a rough several months your way. I prefer to think of it as putting up the decorations so I can enjoy the season. You certainly do have lovely things and it is a joy to see your beautiful dining room last Christmas. I want to thank you many times over for your use of silk flowers. Because of that, I am free to use them, too.

  17. these beautiful images will certainly help get us into the Christmas spirit - I love seeing Christmas images from the northern hemisphere while we bake here in our Australian summer heat! I always delay putting up my decorations until have my grandson's birthday on 7 December. It doesn't seem right somehow to start celebrating Christmas till after HIS big day!
