I've been busy in the house and garden this week, doing some long-neglected chores and overseeing some decorating changes. All good things, but I find that it is almost time to publish this week's Mosaic Monday, and I've got nothing.
Nada. Zip. Zilch.
So here is a very-last-minute mosaic, made up of some images lying around my hard drive... :) The beach photos are from Wildwood, New Jersey -- where the beaches are a half-mile wide. The peony is from my garden, and came from a plant that belonged to my mother. The tea cup is Japanese export, and also belonged to my mom.
I love choosing images that match in color or mood. I think that they each gain something from being displayed together... the sum is made up of more than the parts...
We picked up a few red leaves on our walk this morning... can you believe that autumn is on its way? I'm so not ready for it yet. Are you?

Mary, I love the pretty shades of blues. The beach shot is wonderful, one of my hubby's favorite places to visit. And the peony is gorgeous. Beautiful mosaic! Thanks for hosting and I wish you a happy week ahead!
ReplyDeleteI am joining you this week. I can't believe that it is August already either. I love fall and yes I am ready for it this year.

ReplyDeleteGorgeous moody blues! I look forward to fall but it usually doesn't make an appearance until we're thoroughly scorched in November for us :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous mosaic Mary. No I am not ready for fall, where did the summer go, I am finished with it yet.
ReplyDeleteLovely moody blues, I like the way the flower photographed. I thought fall was here already, it's been cool for a week or so already.

Since we have only had three days of summer so far, I'm not ready for autumn either and it's my favorite season. Beautiful gathering of items for your last-minute mosaic. I'd never have known if you hadn't spilled the beans. I'd love to see a beach a half mile wide...it must be spectacular.
ReplyDeleteThose are happy blues to me Mary! Lots of summertime joy there. Thanks -- as ever.
ReplyDeleteyou might have started with nothing but you came up with something beautiful. Have a wonderful week and thank you for hosting Mosaic Monday for us again - the perfect way to start the week.
ReplyDeleteI can truthfully say that this is the first year that I'm not really ready for autumn. It's not that I love summer. It's just that I'm not ready yet. As always, your images are wonderful. Rich, lush colors. And those NJ beaches are so wide!
ReplyDeleteI am doing gardening chores this week too. Thanks for hosting again this week, Laura
ReplyDeleteYour mosaic is very sweet and delicate, Mary. Have a happy week!
ReplyDelete(Takes deep breath....) I have so much that I want to say... love this mood!! Saw a red leaf, last week! Not ready for fall but LOVE August!! =D I'm so glad that you're mind is full of home!! Isn't it just happy and lovely and refreshing, though?! =D (Running parallel to you, I think. ;) ) And, I've learned so much from your mosaics and just what you've said... and more... and I'll just stop there because it's a subject that I love and I'll wind up going on forever and I need to go to sleep sometime soon... ;)
