I'm so glad to welcome you all back to Mosaic Monday! Last week we took a little jaunt "down the shore," as we say here in New Jersey. For the most part, the weather was beautiful, and I spent a lot of time just walking and enjoying the sights that are so very different from my home.
Three of these shots were taken from the car window as my husband drove, and the beach cabanas and the gingerbread house were taken on a walking tour of Cape May. We spent a lovely afternoon browsing in the shops and having a wonderful lunch in this town with it's beautiful Victorian architecture.
And came home with a few t-shirts and a sunburn. Actually, my daughter also came home with an intestinal flu. :( And it may be my imagination, but I'm not feeling too great tonight myself... but let's think nice positive thoughts...

Hi Mary, so good to see you again! I've been in and out of the hospital again because of my kidneys so I haven't been able to post for almost 2 months. I'm so happy to be back! I can't wait to see everyone's mosaics! Happy Mosaic Monday to you! I hope that you have a beautiful new week!
ReplyDeleteHugs...
Bobbi
Mary, wonderful photos from the shore. I love visiting Cape May. I hope you and your daughter are feeling better. Welcome back and I hope you have a beautiful week.
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better, Mary! Lots of summer bugs going around.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots of the shore. Funny how NJ calls it the shore, and we just call it the ocean.
Great shots of the beach, glad you had a wonderful time. Have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots, Mary, hope you and your daughter are feeling better! Looks like a grand time in spite of the bug! Weather looks perfect!
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful and relaxing images. Plus the music, I'm just meditating here(don't want to leave).
ReplyDeleteHope you are feeling better-positive thoughts coming your way!
Happy Mosaic Monday!
Lovely photos: Hope and your daughter will feel better soon. Have a nice Monday.
ReplyDeleteGood to see you again and looks like a wonderful get-a-way. Hope everyone is feeling better!
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely thinking positive thoughts. The last thing you need is intestinal flue!
ReplyDeleteWonderful shots by the shore. I want to sit in one of those cabanas!
Make that FLU ; ) No matter how you spell it, it's bad.
ReplyDeleteHi Mary
ReplyDeleteSo glad you had a pleasant week off from blogland. Hopefully you will not catch the bug too!
Judith
Hi there Mary, welcome back...and I hope you are not getting the flu!!!
ReplyDeleteI want to join you today but can't see a link up as usual...am I not seeing great either????
Wow... gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteOkay, Mary...I did find the linky thing...I guess I'm #1 this week...how great is that???...lol
ReplyDeleteCape May is so delightful! I've only been there once, but it was a memorable once.
ReplyDeleteI hope your positive thoughts are working. Lovely shots of the shore. Wish I had been there as I'm sure it was cooler than inland. :)
ReplyDeleteI have ALWAYS wanted to go there! That pink house is adorable!!!
ReplyDeletem ^..^
Lovely shots - miss the ocean
ReplyDeleteI was at Cape May,NJ about 10 yrs ago very pretty there. I found its expensive. Every time we went to NJ we ended up getting off the the wrong turn and ended back on again. I think we did it 3 times and the guy let through without paying the third time. Finally, we went through. NJ is a strange state. Different though. I want to see more of it. I really want to go back to Myrtle Beach SC instead. Hopefully soon.. Have a good week and lovely photos.
ReplyDeleteNancy
Hope you are feeling better! I love Cape May!
ReplyDeleteOh I do like your pictures this week. So very peaceful! Cathy
ReplyDeleteLove the gingerbread house styles and pastel colors in Cape May. Haven't been there in awhile, but my mom still goes every year!
ReplyDeleteGlad you got some relaxation! Very pretty and serene mosaic.
I grew up going "down the shore" and have had to get used to saying "going to the beach" down here in NC. Such wonderful photos you've taken. Love the pink house, of course! Hope you stay well! Thanks for hosting.
ReplyDeleteOh, Mary...you can't come home from such a beautiful place with a bug...yes, let's think positive thoughts and hope that your daughter feels better quickly, also.
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful place.
Beautiful photos and place, Mary! Your mosaic is fabulous. I hope you don't come down with something. I have been in bed all day myself, been sick....Christine
ReplyDeleteBeautiful scenery. Sorry to hear about your daughter and I hope you are well.
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting despite that and sunburn!
God Bless,
Kathy
I have lots of good memories of weekends at Cape May - and of the beautiful painted houses.
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel better soon - a flu bug isn't a nice souvenir of a visit to the shore.
I just came across your blog and love what I see - so glad I found you. I've got to come back soon when I have more time to pay attention. For now I'm following and I look forward to seeing more!
ReplyDeleteWhat great photos, Mary! I love the gingerbread trim on the house! It sounds like you had a relaxing break! Happy week!...hugs...Debbie

Love seeing your photos and thanks for sharing them with us. Sure hope you and your daughter are feeling much better. I had some kind of issue this last week, but am doing much better. Thanks for hosting again this week - you are appreciated.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
I grew up in Pa. and my mother grew up in New Jersey. We always went "down the shore." Now that I live in Delaware, we call it "going to the beach."
ReplyDeleteYou were right across the bay from Lewes, DE where I live!
Hi Mary!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and peaceful pictures! Hope your daughter feels better soon and you don't come down with the same thing!
Mary..
ReplyDeleteLove your easy breezy shore visit..
so much different than my Florida beaches..
but each possesses its own unique beauty!
I love being a part of the Mosaic Monday crowd..
and we ALL appreciate your being such a delightful host! Thanks!
warm sandy hugs..
Loui♥

Looks like you had a beautiful little vacation! Love the pink house :-)
ReplyDeleteHello Mary,
ReplyDeletethe landscapes on yours fotos reminds me at the landscapes of the coast of the northsea. It must have been a splendid time out there. Have a nice week!
Anja
Lovely shots. Love the details on the beach house. Hope you & daughter are feeling better..
ReplyDeleteLovely beachy shots, I recognised Cape May straight away.
ReplyDeleteA few years ago we stayed at a wonderful B&B there, The Angel of The Sea.
Sorry you & your daughter have returned home with unwanted souvenirs of your trip, get well soon.
YAY!! You are back.
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting this for us. You are appreciated.
Love the row of cabanas. MB
That's such a pretty house in Cape May... is that really called a gingerbread house, or are you just saying that? There are traditional homes with a similar kind of woodwork trim here in the Philippines. I'll have to find a beauty to photograph one time to post.
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoyed your rest Mary - love the architecture of that building and the beautiful seascape scenes. Thanks for sharing and hosting :) Rosie
ReplyDeleteSounds and looks like a nice holiday.
ReplyDeleteGreat shore shots. Beautiful landscape
ReplyDeleteHi Mary - Hope you are feeling better. Thanks for the Jersey Shore trip! Love the Victorian home.
ReplyDeleteOh dear, Mary, I hope your daughter is better very quickly and you aren't coming down with the flu too. I am happy you all had a lovely day trip, though.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures. I love the gingerbread house. How adorable. The wood work is so sweet.I've never actually seen one other then in photos before. What a pretty style of house.
I am keeping my fingers crossed you don't come down with anything and I truly hope everyone gets well and stays well soon over there.
Hugs,

ReplyDeleteOh, dear, Mary, that stomach bug IS getting around. Well, I hope that it doesn't change the refreshing time that you had!
ReplyDeleteLove, katy
Wonderful photographs Mary. I used to love to drive to Cape May. What a lovely drive and what beautiful photographs you shared today.
ReplyDeleteKaren
Beautiful photos of "the shore." Sorry to read about the nasties and hope that you daughter is feeling a lot better and that it was all just a figment of your imagination where you are concerned. Summer is a lousy season to feel ill.
ReplyDeleteLovely shots! I do hope you are feeling better by now. We had an intestinal bug go through all of us last weekend....no fun.
ReplyDeletethank you for sharing your photos of the new jersey shore. one of my sons moved to new jersey last year and i sure do miss him!
ReplyDeleteI just got back last night from my first trip to Atlantic City. I saw the signs on the expressway for Cape May. I wish i had known about it sooner I would have loved to have stopped there. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteDenise
Beautiful photos Mary, sounds like a perfect afternoon! All my favorite things... The beach, Victorians, and Shopping!
ReplyDeleteHave a nice week!!
Hugs, Sherri:)
Hi Mary,
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful photos..I can see your time of relaxation was great!
Happy Day,
Stephanie ♥
Lovely shots! I simply adore that pink house. What a great perspective shot too. Makes me think of the beach and the different things you can find there besides swimming in the ocean. :) Nice mosaic.
ReplyDeleteOh Mary how miserable to bring back a souvenir virus! Even salt water taffy is better than that.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous shots. I have never been to Cape May; it may go on my list of Things To Do In The Fall; it's not all that far away!
Beautiful!
And I hope your daughter recovers quickly, and that you dodge that particular bullet.
Ick, summer sickies -- no fun.
Cass
My old college roommate lives on the shore in Sea Girt year round...I keep saying I have got to go and visit her but just have never found the time:(
ReplyDeleteHope the "bug" never developed into much!
Hello Mary
ReplyDeleteI love your "down the shore" photos.
You did well taking them out of the car window - I would not have guessed.
have a relaxing and enjoyable week.
Take care
Shane
Hello, Mary
ReplyDeleteI like to read your blog because you write so fascinating and you language so perfect that I enjoy reading it. And it helps me to improve my English.
Many thanks.:)
Svetlana
Feel better, hope your daughter is better, and thank you for sharing the beautiful photos! Not the image of New jersey most of us have, for sure. It is lovely, and so old-world looking.
ReplyDeleteI cannot wait to play on Mosaic Monday!! :-)
