"And tulips, children, love to stretch
Their fingers down, to feel in each
Its beauty's sweet nearer."
Their fingers down, to feel in each
Its beauty's sweet nearer."
~Elizabeth Barrett Browning
Do you love tulips as much as I do? Especially in winter, they are so welcome; although I have to admit, this winter has been mild so far. We had two days of 60-degree weather this week. Now that's my ideal winter! lol
I love how tulips wave and wander and bend, like dancers. And this is my favorite place to display flowers -- on a tole tray, on the footstool in our library/living room. I can see them when I come in the front door, and when I use the stairs. They cheer me up. And even with the beautiful weather, I won't pass up any chance for a little cheer. :)
Gorgeous tulips! You've captured the colors so beautifully!
ReplyDeleteThe colors look so beautiful in that room. I'm glad that you are finding cheer in them. Thank you for sharing them and cheer with us.
ReplyDeleteYour tulips are wonderful, I have some daffodils to cheer me up in this cold weather here in the UK although we do have sunshine. Daffodils are starting to flower in the garden but no tulips yet and I did plant lots of new bulbs last Autumn. Have a great weekend, Jackie in Surrey
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos Mary. Tulips are plentiful at the grocery store here right now as they are grown in Prince Edward Island (Canada). They are my winter flower that cheer me up. Have a great day! Pamela
ReplyDeleteNothing like tulips on a gray wintery day to bring some sunshine into the world. I like to put them where I can see them all the time - in my tv room also. Right now though, I have a bouquet of mixed pink flowers my husband bought me for a welcome home after I was away - so nice.
ReplyDeleteYou may count me in as a fan of tulips. They have a unfussy grace to them and I love May in the garden for that very reason.
ReplyDeleteI do indeed love tulips and these are so beautiful! We can all use such beautiful flowers and colors on a gray wintry day! Love the words by Browning! Perfect! Hope you've had a great week!

I love tulips too - and try to buy as many colour combinations as I can while they are in season.
ReplyDeleteTulips are so sweet, and provide a much needed injection of colour and freshness into winters, no matter how mild. I have a small bouquet of purple tulips on my mantel this week.
ReplyDeleteI'm in love with tulips as well. Beautiful images all.
ReplyDeleteIs there anything better than tulips in the house in the dead of winter? Or whatever this is we have this year...?
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures! I'm in love with tulips!
ReplyDeleteMarkus
I love tulips, thanks for sharing your beautiful photographs...
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tulips, beautiful tray, beautiful vase, beautiful light!
ReplyDeleteI always love the light coming through your window....
ReplyDeleteIsn't this winter strange, though? It can't make up it's mind, apparently! It was frigid, then, it was snow, now, it's spring-like, here, too. er, not as springy as you, though. but, there are huge patches of ground. The less to melt in the official spring, though, so I'm not complaining.
I enjoyed your tulips on 'in a soft light', too. I never left my comment, there, though. I follow Kristybee on flickr and didn't know that she has a blog to and off I went - toodling off for a good wander.... ;)
Anyhoo, I've been thinking of you.... hope everything is well!
xo
Oh so lovely! I can't have tulips in the house (allergies) so I will enjoy yours. They look so great in your living room. Kit
