Mosaic Monday: More Winter

"The earth goes down into the vale of grief..."

Winter has always seemed to me like a couple of months of darkness to be got through on the way to spring...  I'm trying, this year, to get outside and appreciate the beauty a little more.  I keep telling myself that each day will get just a little longer, and that spring will come...

It's not working so far.  ;)

Here are the instructions to join today's post:
1. Publish your Mosaic Monday post. The post may be about any subject you wish. The only stipulation is that it include a collage, or mosaic of photos.
2. Once it is published, click on the title of the post. This will lead you to the static link for your post. The static link is the page with only that post on it. Copy the url from your browser at the top of the page.
3. Paste the url into the appropriate inlinkz box in this post.
4. Type your name in the appropriate inlinkz box in this post.
5. Click on "Enter."
6. Please link back to this Mosaic Monday post so that your readers can find other wonderful mosaics.
That's all there is to it! It's always a good idea to then check and see if your link is working. If you have any questions, feel free to email me: mrcarroll(at)optonline.net

And a quick reminder: if you would like to join Mosaic Monday but don't know quite where to start, there is a tutorial on mosaic-making on my sidebar. Just scroll down, and click on the small blue mosaic.

  2. Your images belie the statement, "It's not working." They are beautiful. And somehow you've managed to make winter look warm.

  3. Happy New Year, Mary! Beautiful images of the cold, the still, and the silent. I agree, we should get out more, when temps allow, to appreciate the beauty of winter, even though, it takes a little coaxing, and a lot of layers in clothing!!

Thanks for hosting and have a lovely week!

  6. Winter just seems to drag out longer as we age. I remember last year thinking that spring would never come, so you're not alone in your thinking Mary.
    A lovely quote from Kingsley.

  7. Happy New Year, Mary. I don't mind Winter. I tend to hibernate and read or whatever, since I don't have to get out in crazy weather, nowadays.
    Your mosaic is amazing!!

  8. oh Mary, it sounds so depressing - I can't imagine what it must be like - but you are capturing the beautiful golden light in your images - and I do so love everyone's winter images this time of year. Keep warm and keep smiling. I hope my summery images this week may brighten your world. Happy Mosaic Monday and happy New Year!

  9. Mary, your images are so inviting. I know those who have harsh winters can't wait for spring to arrive, but here in Southeast Texas I enjoy the pleasures that the colder season brings, even if it is a brief one.

New Year blessings and thanks for hosting.

  11. I do remember how you hate the wintertime. Jan. and Feb. and then March...spring is on the way, Mary....it really is.

  21. Winter has its beauty in every part of our continent. While we don't have the snowy landscapes and icy embellishments, the moss and mist of winter on the west coast has its own beauty.

  22. Your winter scenes and the poem are lovely.
As much as snow and ice can be troublesome it
does make everything look beautiful for a little while.

  24. There is no denying the stark beauty of winter, as your photos have captured, but oh how it weighs me down! Even as a child, I yearned for the warm days of May! It will dip down to 9 degrees here in the South tonight - we aren't used to it! I will bring the dogs in for the night again this evening. V
