I'd like to tell you that I got the kitchen decorated for Christmas, but unfortunately these pictures are from last year. The red transferware dishes are reproduction Spode, collected from TJMaxx and HomeGoods and Marshall's. The little house is a cookie jar that my in-laws gave me as a gift a few years ago, filled with delicious cookies. The bird prints, in their rustic wood frames, were a rummage sale find.
I went on a holiday house tour on Sunday. Unfortunately they did not allow cameras, so I could not take pictures for you. But I have to say that I got a lot of inspiration, and I'm feeling bit more in the mood to decorate my own house. :)

I'm afraid decorating the house for Christmas during out hot, humid, horrid summertime is not something I relish. I'm still putting it off until absolutely necessary.
ReplyDeleteI did enjoy your mosaic though ... particularly loved those bird prints in wooden frames!
Just Lovely Mary. I missed this week. I hope to begin again next week. Again Lovely

ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty, dreamy, lovely combination of wonderful reds and tans -- and I don't care at all if it's from last year.
ReplyDeleteIn fact, if I were you, I'd blow up those pictures to poster size and just stand them up in your kitchen and let that work for 2010.
It's SO cold today, and I have so many errands. Brrr....
