"Let no vandalism of avarice or neglect, no ravages of time, testify to the present or to the coming generations, that we have forgotten, as a people, the cost of a free and undivided Republic. "
~John A. Logan

I didn't realize that today was Memorial Day in the US. Coincidentally, today I visited my husband's uncle who is the oldest living Marine in the Engineering Division. He had an official call on his 94th birthday earlier this year. We always enjoy hearing his tales of his Marine Service and seeing the wonderful World War II photographs he took and developed himself. Your collages are a good reminder of the sacrifices that were made.
ReplyDeleteThanks (again) for the great photo's and the perfect words.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes,
Markus
We celebrate Remembrance Day on November 11th, but today is a good time to remember my Uncle Don, a US army career soldier, who served two tours in Vietnam and, blessedly, returned home to his family.
