Mosaic Monday: Winter Blues

We had a little bit of snow last week, and I couldn't resist taking a few shots in the early morning as the sun slanted between the trees in our front yard. I'm sure the people driving by on their way to work thought I was nuts. I had brought a small area rug outside and was lying down on it to get a shot of the sun glinting off the snow on the ground.

The things I do for art. ;)

How has your winter been so far? It's been lovely here, with temperatures in the 40's and 50's for the most part. Even this weekend, when it stayed in the 30's, I've been enjoying winter much more than usual. I think I can make it till spring without suffering the winter blues. As long as March isn't a bear. :)

In case you are interested, I made the mosaic above using a storyboard from The CoffeeShop Blog. You can find it here.

  5. Lovely photos of your winterland. I have been enjoying this mild winter, even though we had some snow and it was cold and windy today. Great captures. Happy Valentine's Day!

  6. No Winter blues going on here either. We have had such a mild Winter! I think it snowed maybe 3 times, but melted away so quickly. I did shovel one time. I have loved the warmer weather also. Your mosiac is lovely. There is just something about freshly fallen snow. Thanks for hosting.

  7. That's a funny picture (you laying on the rug on the snow). Beautiful mosaic. I have to tell you it's been an up and down winter here in N.B. Canada. We get a couple of nicer days with decent below freezing temps then a couple where it's extremely cold - like today - and it's going down to -20 C tonight! And we have enough snow but not nearly as much as other winters. Have a great week! Pamela

  10. You really are photographic artist, Mary!

It's really cold tonight ...brrr...but I agree that for the most part this has been a mild winter so far! It makes up for last year. Hope we squeak through the rest of February and March without a major snowstorm!

  20. Our winter has been very unusual, a couple of really cold days, a couple of extra mild days. We have had hardly any snow accumulation and one ice storm. I actually like it this way.

  23. such beautiful snow and sunshine, looks like the perfect winters day. We've had a very mild wet winter in north west England up until two weeks ago, then it went really cold and quite a bit of snow in places. Today is the first day it's been mild again and its lovely, I'm ready for spring now:)

  27. Nice winter shots. Lying on a rug in the yard on the snow is not so strange. I was lying flat out in the yard the afternoon of the hurricane, taking pictures of mushrooms. A truck stopped and the man hollered, "Ma'am, are you all right?" My husband still teases me about that.
