Yellow and Green

Just some yellows and greens for you today. I've been busy cleaning out closets and drawers in my kids' rooms. Oy! But once it's done I'm sure there will be a great sense of accomplishment to be had. It's just that until then there is a royal mess that spreads across several rooms. You've got to break some eggs to make an omelette, right?

In the meantime, the light was so beautiful in the kitchen the other day that I had to record it. Isn't it funny how light can make such a difference in your attitude? Here's hoping we have a bright and sunny weekend.

Happy Friday, dear bloggers! :)

  1. Good luck with the kids room:>) When my baby went to college this year I just shut the door:>P I was just commenting yesterday to someone that sunshine always makes me more energetic and happy. I guess I'm very light dependent. That tureen with the pheasant on top is so gorgeous! Have a great weekend Mary!

  2. Now you're talking my language - yellow, green, and white - my three favorite colors, my favorite color combination. That's why so many of my flowers are yellow and white. Couldn't even join in the Monday Mosaic this week - not enough pink : ) Thanks for sharing your wonderful home. B : )

  9. Oy! I hear you there, Mary - cleaning anything left over from my children is a big "OY".

The sunlight has been so crisp, clean and shiny this week...and today, it rains but that's okay :)

    Enjoy your clean closets.

  12. How gorgeous to see roses again when the garden is gently closing down until next year.
Yesterday I started to clear out my "airing cupboard" (only Jackie will know what this is). I bagged a lot to give to Emmaus (sort of like Goodwill. I feel a lot better for it!!
    Have a great weekend.

  13. So pretty. I have lots of yellows and greens with little pops of red to spice it up just a bit. I think green is a wonderful color for every season and style. I was even thinking of starting a green meme. I wonder if there has been one before?
    Hugs,

  15. Lovely pictures, lovely light ... but my favorite shot? YOUR COUNTERTOP AND FAUCET. yay, soapstone! Our counters are being installed tomorrow morning; today the plumber came and I don't have a working kitchen sink now till Monday!

    (Gee, what a hardship. No dishes . . . .)

I went to Teixera to choose the stone -- and naturally can't remember the name of it, but it's basically BLACK with just a little light veining in it. I love it. Pictures on Monday!

And you realize that if I don't like the soapstone, it's entirely your fault. :-P

Have a lovely weekend! Good luck shoveling out the kids' rooms. Just think of it as akin to evolution ... perfection rising from the primordial slime.
