First of all, please ignore all the mess on our bedside tables, and my running shoes, and the floor that desperately needs refinishing. What I wanted to show you was our new duvet cover and euro shams, which were birthday gifts this week. The bedroom has been painted this pale smoke blue for several years now. We've been using some bedding which I found in TJMaxx. It is beginning to get a little shabby, however, and I've always wanted a toile in here. I've finally found a bedding set that I absolutely love. It's from Pottery Barn, and it's a pale blue toile in a pattern called Martine.

ReplyDeleteI love toile too, and had blue toile in our bedroom until it just got too shabby even for me! I'd like to find another set - perhaps I'll have luck when I'm in WA next week.
ReplyDeleteIt looks wonderful, Mary. Toile, especially blue and white, is a favorite of mine. It always takes me back to my grandmother's house--she had blue and white in one bedroom and green and white toile wall paper in the bedroom I slept in!

ReplyDeleteThere's not much more I can add, except to say that I love it, too. The chandelier is really amazing and seems to be the suggestion of every designer on HGTV. Sure beats our ceiling fan (which I could not live without). Beautiful!

I love the pale smokey blue color and I love the Martine bedding...our mutual friend Penny has the yellow in her MBR. I covet the espresso color..but then again I am a self confessed "quilt whore". Every PB catalog seems to have a new quilt that I adore. Perhaps instead of downsizing we should be looking at B&Bs with multiple quilt opportunities :)

ReplyDeleteI love toile ...especially blue and white toile. THIS however is absolutely gorgeous! I love the softness of the colors...very subtle yet makes a wonderful statement. I think you should get the dust ruffle too!!! Have fun with your decorating and please don't apologize for being 'REAL'. Have a wonderful weekend.

Mary, I love toile also! The spread in my bedroom has some toile in it. I have a red and a blue toile throw. Both too cute to pass up. lol! Your new ensemble matches your wall so beautifully. Love it!!!
