It's 37 degrees and rainy this morning, but this is what we woke up to yesterday morning at the Little Red House. Three days before Thanksgiving, and it's beginning to look a lot like, well, you know... I just can't think about Christmas until I've gotten through my daughter's birthday, which is tomorrow, and Thanksgiving. Then we'll drag out the decorations, and start shopping, and wrapping, and baking...
Jeez, I'm tired already, just thinking about it!

Good morning, Mizz Mary...I am the same way. I refuse to "do" Christmas until we are finished with Thanksgiving. As a young girl, Thanksgiving was always so special and we never saw Christmas things out until after the Thanksgiving holiday was over. Now, it seems to all run together. I HAVE been wrapping C. gifts (with 10 grandchildren, their parents and many others, I HAVE to start early!) but won't decorate until the day after Thanksgiving.

oh! it looks lovely! You had more snow than we did up north, but it's snowing now pretty hard. I hope you have a lovely Birthday for your daughter and a beautifully peaceful Thanksgiving.

Oh, how beautiful! I'm sure that snow can be a nuisance when you have to deal with it all winter, but we almost never get snow, so it is still magical for me.

ReplyDeleteIt is still in the 80's where I am, so it makes it that much harder. I have been "thinking" for weeks and weeks, but no actual decorating will be done until December.

Well I'm glad to say that we have not had the snow you had. At least not yet. This weekend may be another thing.

ReplyDeleteGood morning Mary. We haven't had any snow here is Southeastern MA, but yesterday looked and smelled and felt like snow all day. Even the birds were very active at the feeders anticipating something that was in the air, but never arrived.

Whoops, I spoke too soon. Snow is falling out of the gray sky and actually covering some of the grass. The first snow is always the loveliest, don't you think?

We had snow up here in NH today too. Too early in my opinion! Looking a lot like Christmas in these parts. Have a great Thanksgiving. Your small one sounds inviting to me-I have over 30 people!

I have my fingers crossed this winter that it is at least cold and we get ice so I can see others skating. I too am not allowing myself to think Christmas until after this Thanksgiving is past. I don't want to rush autumn away.

Oh the snow is beautiful! I wish we got snow here. Every year I hope that it will snow. It's snowed twice in my 47 years!

ReplyDeleteHere in Australia it only snows on a few mountains in the south east and a very few other places, so it is really expensive to "go to the snow". You pay a fee to enter the areas that have the snow. I had never seen snow until I was 20.

I am feeling teh same way dear Mary! I keep Thanksgiving just for THAT special day. There is no sign of Christmas here yet. : )
ReplyDeleteAnd I get tired just thinking about it all but it does come together some how. I am much less of a perfectionist now and am easier on myself about getting certain things done. We just take our time and try to enjoy the little things we love about the holiday.
I do want to wish you a most happy Thanksgiving. I have been blessed by you this year...your blog is such a spirit lifter for me!
