Kitchen Tree

This is a little tree I usually put up in my kitchen. The tree itself is from Michael's, where there are always great sales before Christmas. It's all decked out with some silverplated cutlery. Everything is small, to match the scale of the tree.

There are some sugar tongs, a butter knife, a couple of children's spoons and a diminutive salt shaker. There's also a small fork -- a fish fork? Plaid ribbon entwines the whole, and a small St. Nicholas peeps out from behind the branches.

The tree sits on our butcher block cabinet, along with a few Christmas plates and some more greenery. Slowly but surely, Christmas is unfolding here. More to follow in the days ahead...

What a perfect little tree for the kitchen! And it looks so lovely next to your transferware. I have no doubt the rest of your home looks gorgeous!

Very pretty, I like that it has such a simple, but shiny and lovely, theme:>) Looks like you are getting more in the mood to decorate as the season unfolds. We have a progressive dinner here tomorrow night (dessert) and I am still not done decorating! SO much to do so little time, hope you have a great Thursday Mary!

What a sweet tree. I love the decorations on it. Your Christmas plates are lovely, too.
I am wanting to post some more Christmas things but am trying very hard to save them for the blogland Christmas Tour of Homes on the 17th. Can I wait? I doubt it..afraid I will have some re-runs! lol

Mary,
That display looks so celebratory!! I envy you the counter space to display it and oh yeah, no cats to knock it over.
Come by or some easy and popular cookies. Would you like coffee or tea?

I love it! It is so crazy to me that while going through blogland most of us have posted our kitchen tree. Each differnt as we are,but still so sweet. I have to tell you though that no matter how simple evrything you touch has such beauty! You are one unique lady. If I would have done a tree like that it would look crazy, but it piece of silver looks so old and classey.Hugs to one great lady.
