Yes, I may have a slight problem with collecting things, and several people have asked me where in the world I store everything, so I wanted to show you two of my storage options at our Little Red House.
The photo at the top is a deacon's bench that seats two at our kitchen table. Open the seat, and there's a ton of storage for kitchen odds and ends. We're lucky to have a large pantry, so most of our kitchen cabinets are free for dishes. Yipee!
This is a painted chest of drawers in our dining room. We originally got it to put in a bedroom, but it sort of got sidetracked into the dining room, and there it stays. Lots of dishes fit inside!
We also have a corner cabinet in the dining room, as well as a hutch, a washstand and another cabinet. All full. OK, so maybe we do need more storage.
Or less dishes...
Nope. More storage.
Your storage pieces are so neat. I adore the bench and the painted chest is wonderful. I need to organize and sort badly....it gets out of hand. I should just show hubby your pictures and explain that I need a few more attractive storage pieces, too.....I am sure he would jump on board :-)
ReplyDeleteYes, definately, more storage:) And what love storage is too! That decon's bench makes me want to shout Hallelujah!

I was just thinking of redoing an old dresser that we have to put in our dining room. That's the trouble with 100 year old homes. There wasn't a lot of storage in mind when these were being built. So I'm glad to see that you have a dresser in your dining room! And I love that bench!
ReplyDeleteLove,
Julie

ReplyDeleteIt great that you have a variety of storage options at Little Red House. The chest of drawers in the dining room is what I dream of for my table linens. I keep them now in the living room desk drawers.
ReplyDeleteI love your storage options! It's fun to put furniture to work. I have a chest of drawers in my kitchen from my son's bedroom when he was little. Might as well use what's there! Lovely pictures as always. It always gives such a cozy feeling when I read your blog!
ReplyDeleteYou have really awesome furnishings...I really mean that!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Robin

ReplyDeleteI had to giggle when I came across your blog today and read your profile. I too am a 50-something Mary married to a funny attorney.

But ... now that I think about it ...
Oh, I do love all your storage places. They are beautiful! I love that decon's bench so much.

Excellent storage in your kitchen bench and the painted chest! Yes -- another vote for simply more storage -- after all -- tomorrow just may bring another stack of fresh china treasures from the lovely thrift stores!

Mary, everything in your home is exquisite. I agree, always more storage over pairing down!
ReplyDeleteAmanda (aka Cottage Contessa)
Aha! NOW I know your secrets! :) I'll be keeping my eyes open for more storage options. ~ hugs, Lynda xo
ReplyDeleteI love the lines on that dressar and we want a church pew for our table. We did have one but it was very old and had sat outside too long at the last owners residence and was beyond what we finally decided was our capability to repair. There was just way to much damage. I love the eclecticness of both pieces!
ReplyDeleteGod bless,
Sallie
Yes, I would vote for more storage!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty storage options, I might add.
