Remember when I posted a photo mosaic last week? I told you that I also like to make books on Blurb. It's really fun, and highly addictive.
This is the first book I made. It's a small collection of my favorite autumn photos.
The Blurb software is extremely easy to use, and making a book is so much fun.
It would also be a terrific way to record a summer vacation, or a high school team's winning season, or your favorite recipes. Right now I'm in the process of making a book of flower photographs.
So do you have any ideas for making a book? I'd love to hear them. :)
What is it with us, Mary? Are we on some sort of tangent plane?
ReplyDeleteI just finished a book on blurb. I'd heard about it some time ago on another blog and started one. And this weekend, I finally finished it and am waiting for it to come in the mail.
It was so fun to make, too! If it's nice enough, I'm giving it to a friend for a gift.
Your cover is spectacular. And your idea for a book solely dedicated to one season, well bravo! Love it.
PS ~ Are you selling it?
My brother made a photobook for us last year, one of the people...one of our cats lol!...just surfed in to your blog, and realized that i recognized all those places in your pictures lol! (hubby works in Bernardsville)....love your blog!
ReplyDeleteThe book is lovely, Mary. I think I would like a book of quiet place I love.
ReplyDeleteWOW! How impressive! Your book looks like one I would buy! I will have to cehck out blub and attempt something like this. Not that my photos would be anywhere near as good as your's, but what a neat way to save memories! Much easier than scrapbooking!
ReplyDeleteThat is way cool!

That is so beautiful Mary! Shouldn't you be looking for an agent or something?!
ReplyDeleteMary,
ReplyDeleteI love your pictures! I used your little white pumpkin picture as computer wallpaper! It is a great photo.
I have no ideas for photo books (I am quite camera challenged) but your's is FAB!

In May, we had dear friends, Marion and John, a lovely couple from Wales visit us for 12 days....I met Marion through her Welsh garden blog and we bonded immediately....we traveled from our home to the beach and mountains showing them our state. I would be thrilled to record their visit in a book....she and I have blogged about their visit...each from our perspective.....
ReplyDeleteThank you for the information....Betty
Thanks for the info! I've had the fun of actually writing 2 quilting books for publication, and loved doing it. Blurb sounds like a chance to revisit that fun on a simpler basis!! Sally
ReplyDeleteTried doing this back along and had trouble. Perhaps it's my computer or perhaps it is I. ;>
ReplyDeleteThis book looks fantastic. It would make terrific Christmas gifts, too.
Very nice book, Mary. I used Blurb to take my blog for 2006 and make it into a book. I was more than satisfied with the results. Now I've got to catch up on 2007 and 2008! Peggy from PA
ReplyDeleteMy son will arrive home from studying abroad with a thousand pictures, so far(!). This is a wonderful idea for the grandparents and for a treasure for him.
ReplyDeleteMary, you are full of the *Best* ideas! Thank you so much.
Bless you today.
That is awesome. So beautiful. Your books are worthy to be sold.
ReplyDeleteI have a friend who takes a picture of her kids on the first day of school every year and asks them what they want to be when they grow up. How fun would it be their senior year to make of book of them growing up and see how their interests have changed from year to year?.
*hugs*
Lovely.
ReplyDeleteJust what does the saying "making book" mean, anyway?
Is it a gambling term?
What a lovely book!!! You did such a great job!!
ReplyDeletewhat a wonderful idea Mary...but with your photography I should be seeing your book on the shelves at Barnes and Noble......Have a great week...Sue
ReplyDeletelooks absolutely lovely...i was toying with the idea of putting together highlights of my many "italy" trips into that format....maybe this will be a sooner than later project.
ReplyDeletethanks for sharing with us.
have a good day.
I just found the answer to how I could put my Sacred Life Sunday posts into a book for the year 2008! Thanks for the tip! I just want to save them in something a bit more permanent than printing it off on paper, or saving the disc. Your book is so lovely, you should be so proud!
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking of making a book with some of my favorite blog posts of the year...
ReplyDeletea wonderful pictorial ...
ReplyDeletethank you for sharing. and would make a lovely gift for a special friend.
Wonderful! I heard about blurb before and I already ordered some books a friend made. I guess I will give it a try sometime soon....have to check into the detail again a little more but sounds like you only made good experiences with them. Are you going to sell them on blurb too?
ReplyDeleteSmiles, Anke ;)
Over the last year, I wrote 100 things every month that I loved about my husband, until I got to 1000! He LOVED it. I'm using Blurb to put them all in a book for him for Christmas.
ReplyDeleteI love to make those books I have done 3. Here is a link to the flower book.
