I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday! On Christmas day, we had brunch at my brother-in-law's house, then dinner at home. My husband grilled filets of beef outside (I swear to God) and we had a terrific dinner. Then we went to my sister-in-law's for dessert.
On Saturday, we had all my in-law's for a pizza party -- my kind of entertaining. Ten adults and seven kids in our Little Red House.
So, what did Santa bring you? Every year, I tell my family that all I want is a few books, and every year, they get me something wonderful. This year, I got a few decorating books, a beautiful fleece sweater, and a macro lens!!!!
Oh, and I got a rhinovirus, too. But I'm pretty sure Santa didn't bring that. ;)
Fantastic photos and the last one took my breath away!
ReplyDeleteNo, I'm pretty sure Santa didn't bring the virus either. lol! Unless you were kissing Santa!
ReplyDeleteYou lucky duck getting a new macro lens. The holiday pictures are beautiful! I'm envious. How I long for a fancy camera. *sigh* The vet bill I paid on Christmas Eve would have bought me a very nice camera indeed!
Santa brought me a Blackberry that I've wanted for quite sometime now. Texting with my girls just became a whole lot easier : )
Oh, no....no one wants that ole virus for Christmas nor any other time! Hope you feel better soon, Mary.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds as if you had a fabulous Christmas...I am so glad.
We received a big screen tv from daughter and son...it is so wonderful, I can't wait to see Harrison Ford, almost life-size, in my living room! tee hee....
love, bj
So glad your Christmas was so wonderful. That macro lens is well deserved and if that last photo is any indication, we are going to see some amazing photos!
ReplyDeleteI don't Santa brings viruses - even to those naughty ones.
ReplyDeleteYour pictures are awesome. Lucky and well-loved lady, you are.
I think one of those seven kids brought your the virus. But at least you have your fun new toy to keep you busy;)
ReplyDeleteHi and welcome back to Blogland! I am thrilled that your Christmas went well and that you put your hubby to work grilling! Ha! Your pictures are to-die-for gorgeous! I'm thinking I like your micro lens Christmas present almost as much as you!

Hi Mary
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you had a lovely holiday with your family...love the pizza idea, easy and everyone loves it!
Hope you can hop over to see our Christmas Eve celebration--we did the traditional Italian fish dishes (I know you know what I mean!)
:0)
Tara
Incredible photos! Are they taken with the macro lens?
ReplyDeleteSounds as if you had a wonderful Christmas!
SHE'S BACK!!
ReplyDeleteI was wondering about the lens when I saw these photos! Which, btw, are so beautiful. Great bokeh in the first one, Mary.
You're not the first one I've heard that was sick. Hope you're on the mend.
oh my!! and the last shot? Perfection!!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you had a glorious Christmas! I'm looking forward to more wonderful pictures from you in 2009. Sally
ReplyDeleteThose are beautiful pictures.. I think I might have a macro, I will have to check, lol!!
ReplyDeleteI hope your feeling better, that virus is a nasty one.
Happy 2009 to you !
~Stephanie~
Hey! Santa brought me a virus too - we must have been bad this year :) Though I guess you were pretty good for him to bring you a macro lens - maybe next year for me! [I can't complain too much since he brought me a D90 a little early, in October]
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your cold. (I ended up with a sicky too) But it sounds like you had a great Christmas and I'm so glad. I'm also jealous of the macro lens. Congratulations.
ReplyDelete*hugs*
I SO want one of those lenses!
ReplyDeleteSorry 'bout the virus...that's no fun!
Decorating books and a lens, can it get any better?
ReplyDeleteHa-ha, when I saw that first picture I thought that something was up because the clarity is startling and the background of those perfect little round orbs was wonderful...what fun!! So glad you had a wonderful Christmas (grilled outdoors?!!), but sorry your nose got too involved in the excitement. Take ZICAM, if you aven't already...I've really had good results with it.
ReplyDeleteHi Mary,
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure what that lens is but if it means yummy pictures like these...I think we all got a prezzie out here too! So sorry you are feeling poorly, get plenty of rest and take care of yourself.
Hugs,
Dena
A macro lens and decorating books and something to wear? GOD is good!! (Oops..I mean Santa!)
ReplyDeleteMona
We got the virus, but not the lens.
ReplyDeleteI must have been naughty.
Or you're very very good.
(Or both)
Hi Mary, Santa gave me an IPod Touch! yay! and I've been using it to organize my life and make it more exciting...
ReplyDeleteNow what did you get for you? Looks like Santa knows what you really like and he gave it. You deserve it.
HAPPY NEW YEAR
Jeannie
Hi Mary,
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel better real soon, kissing anyone with a big white beard ???
Your pictures are amazing already, can't imagine them any better !!!
Our son gave us one of those Ceiva digital picture frames, it's so cool.
Happy New Year,
Kathy :)
drooling over the macro lens. Lust.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad to have found your blog. You take excellent photos.
ReplyDeleteYup, the rhinovirus was delivered to our house as well. It must be a disgruntled elf. Love the macro work, thanks for the beautiful Christmas images. Happy New Year, Mary.
ReplyDeletePhooey on that virus...yuck. I do hope you are feeling a bit better by now.
ReplyDeleteYeah on the lens!! Bill got me a new camera and I am having fun playing with it. : ) Now he says he will have many more gift ideas...lens, flash kits, etc. *smile*
I can imagine the gorgeous images you will gather with the new lens. You are such a talent...
Happy new year dear Mary!

Sue
