Here is an unusual mosaic for you today. I've been busy making a calendar! I found the templates at Shutter Sisters, and added my own photos. The pages for each individual month are sized to fit in a holder made from a CD case. You gently remove the top of the case, turn it around, and reattach it to the base. That gives you a stand up holder. Then you simply slip the calendar pages in where the liner notes normally go. Voila!
They would also look really cute hung on the fridge with a magnet-backed clothespin or binder clip. I'll be getting some printed up this week, so I'll let you know later in the week how they turned out. :)
Now let's have some mosaic fun! Here are the instructions:

Hi Mary,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Calendar, I am a newbie and I am excited to be part of this neat blog party! Cindy
A calendar ... what a lovely idea! My contribution is a photo workshop project I did on Saturday. I figured a photo quilt of pink roses is 'kinda' like a mosaic. I love seeing all the Monday Mosaic creativity.
ReplyDeleteConnie
Welcome, Cindy! So glad you could join us. :) Welcome back, everyone! I look forward to visiting you all throughout the week. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Mary! What a beautiful bunch of pictures. I love the December one, of the ice on the branches -- it is so delicate and lovely. And then I remember WHY it is so delicate and lovely . . . because it is ICE. Then I choose June as my favorite because I love peonies, and they are not ice.
ReplyDeleteThis is a lovely idea for a calendar, using the CD case.
I see Cindy (above) joined the party. She is to blame for giving me encouragement to post to my first-ever blog party. :-) I remember being so astonished when I got comments!
And . . . there is Soapstone in my kitchen!!! I am in love.
Cass
