Yesterday was a quiet, rainy spring day and, after getting a few errands completed, I covered the camera with a plastic bag and went out to chronicle the "fine, soft rain," as my husband's Irish grandmother used to call it. I couldn't help snipping a few of the red buds from the maple tree, too, and bringing them inside to admire.
And then I played around with Photoshop for awhile, and made up this little mosaic. Yes, it's not Mosaic Monday, but sometimes you just have to go with the flow. Besides, think back to when you were little... what did you do on a rainy day? Either reading or coloring book, right? Well, Photoshop is my adult version of a coloring book. lol
Sometimes a rainy day can be just as beautiful as a sunny one, in it's own quiet way.
I do love the colors!!! The red is so vibrant!!! Wow! You did have fun! Cathy
ReplyDeleteOh I wish I knew how to use Photoshop, I have Photoshop Elements 6 and have never used it.

Surprised and delighted to see a mosaic on Tuesday, too! Looks like time well spent - lovely images.
ReplyDeleteI love to watch it rain. Your pictures are lovely! The maple buds are very pretty! Carla
ReplyDeleteI like how you added the red texture Mary. Very cool. Photoshop is kind of like a coloring book isn't it!
ReplyDeleteOh, so pretty Spring brunches... I love your artwork!!!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Diana
I can feel it!
ReplyDeleteMary, I also play with photoshop or head to the quilt room on rainy days, just like today and you're right an adult version of younger times:) Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteFollowing your creative heart....a very good idea....smiles.
ReplyDeleteGood morning Mary!
ReplyDeleteI just love your photography...the mosaic is beautiful. Your lighting is always perfect...we all can learn a lot from you...thank you! I hope you have a wonderful day...it's sunny here but tomorrow they're predicting rain. Take care.
Maura :)
Yes, Photoshop is almost like playing with crayons, isn't it? So fun to do on a rainy day. I admire what you've created with your photos here, Mary. I bet Ireland gets a lot of fine, soft rain!
ReplyDeleteI love a soft spring rain. It just means that the flowers will be lovely in a couple of months. I think that buds are every bit as lovely as the flowers themselves. Beautiful mosaic Mary!

We used to go outdoors and play on rainy days. I grew up in Southeast Alaska and it rained most of the time. If we didn't put on our raingear and go out to play in the rain we'd have been indoors most of the time. I still enjoy a good soft rain day - walking or doing yard work - either is fine.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful mood you've created. A treat to the eye and soul.
ReplyDeleteCan I come over and color with you? *grin*

i adore the red bokeh!!!
ReplyDeleteMary, your mosaic captures the gentleness of such a "fine, soft rain" and the delicacy of the buds. Bringing a little spring to our homes does help sweep away winter, doesn't it? I'll be watching our forsythia bush for buds so that I can bring in a few branches to enjoy. In the meantime, I rely on Walmart for a few flowers to add a splash of color to our home!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Laurie
Los colores y el contraste alto le dan mucha fuerza al mosaico, me gusta mucho.
ReplyDeleteUn abrazo! Joe
OMG...love this Mary!
ReplyDeleteThese are gorgeous! I just love Photoshop. It was so intimidating to learn at first (it does SO much!) but it's definitely something I use almost daily.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. I love a good soft rain on a day I'm not working and can be home to enjoy it. I really love to listen to rain falling on a tin roof. So peaceful. When I was a kid I'd run down to the barn and lay on hay bales to listen to the rain fall on that roof. We've had too much rain here in MO, and it is MUDDY. More rain headed our way tonight and tomorrow. Blessings to you. I enjoy your blog!
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Mary,
ReplyDeleteJust stopping in to start my day with some visual poetry. Hope your day is wonderful.
Hugs,
Dena
I love shooting in the rain-- and while not many of the shots turn into something i love... its a peace that my heart feels when i am amidst it. Quiet -- soft -- lovely.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.
Claudia
