Beautiful chartreuse Lady's Mantle,

and a little romance...

creates a cool tableau...

on a very hot day. :)

It's in the 90's here. How's the weather where you live?

  2. It was in the 90's for the last two days, but this morning I woke up to a much cooler 67. Ahhh, I love the morning air!

  3. Same...too hot, too muggy. I am trying not to complain because we're promised perfect weather for tomorrow.

Your pictures made me feel cooler or was it the AC and the fan? Lovely images...

  4. We have had 6 beautiful sunny days in a row and then last night we had severe thunder storms roll through with some rain. More of the same for today but at least it's warm. I love heat, but not necessarily the humidity and we don't have AC in the house as we only have about 10 days a summer that we'd need it. :-) Stay cool!

  5. We are struggling to reach summer here in B.C. A few gorgeous days and now clouds again. Maybe a good dose of rain to water the garden and then right back to sunshine this afternoon...is that asking too much.

  6. I heard about the heat wave that has settled over southern Ontario and the US eastern seaboard. We're still pretty cool out here. Yesterday was 50F and today won't be much warmer, although it is supposed to be sunny.

  7. Finally it has cooled down some. Who would think it would be exciting to see the mid-90's? But this morning it was delightful and I even got to open the kitchen window for a few hours. I love to hear the birds waking up with all their lovely calls and songs.

    Hugs, have a wonderful day.

  8. We are finally enjoying some dry weather, here in Portland, OR. It is in the 70℉'s for the next week. Then back to our usual rainy days. Perfect spring/summer weather. I'm not a fan of heat, so I'm loving it.

  9. Lovely Lady's Mantle - and how fitting for the picture in your book. :)

It is low 70's here today and beautifully sunny. Finally. Maybe I can finish weeding my raspberry row.

  11. The weather is, I'll bet, the same except, you guys down there are usually just a bit hotter! Poor you!

And, now, I've come inside for shelter from the noonday sun but am a dazed gardener....you know the feeling?=]

These are very beautiful photos, Mary. Hmmm, this is going to sound funny but I'm sure that you'll know what I mean... they're artless.

I bought some Lady's Mantle on sale, two years ago but they never went into the ground until this past Oct./Nov.. I'd remembered reading about it in English Gardening books and snapped it up - not thinking if I even liked it or knew what it was. Then, a few weeks ago, I started seeing Nora posting photos of them - growing excitement...

Do you know her blog, Seelen Sachen? Here's a link to one of the posts with the Lady's Mantle:

(you can just copy and paste it, right? I hope that you don't mind but thought that you might be interested.)

Anyway, mine are coming along - soon! My whole garden feels like a wonderful surprise or discovery, this year! Kind of like, "Oh! Where did that come from?!"=D

    Love, Me xo

  12. We had that hot weather here in South Dakota last weekend. I really didn't mind it after the long cold winter! You can send it back here if you wish! What do you think about the change at Playlist.com? I miss the automatic music when I tune into your blog! I let them know how I feel as others were commenting on their site. I switched over to Mixpod.com. Maybe you want to check it out?

  13. Sal, I just noticed that today! Often, I have the sound on my laptop turned off altogether... I will check out Mixpod. Thanks for the tip!
    xoxo,

  14. bEAUTIFUL post!!!!! You have some wonderful pictures. I'm in South Texas and it's been 104 for 3 days in a row. We haven't had rain for months and all of our plants are wilting. Even watering everyday doesn't help....only makes the water bill outrageously high! :)

  16. Hello Mary

The rain is relentless and every leaf and flower is crying beads of water. In the north, the warm weather has accelerated the snow-melting, so, streams and rivers are rushing, bubbling and frothing over their banks. Please, can I borrow some of your sun....

  21. Beautiful images Mary... and we're heating up here in the Desert, today it's over 100 degrees, but then we expect that this time of year. I hear that there is unseasonable scorching heat elsewhere... and some folks are still battling snow and unseasonal cold... the weather has been very temperamental hasn't it!? Grab a cold glass of Lemonade or Iced Tea, find a shady spot and pretend you're on an enchanting Tropical Island... works for me! *winks*

  22. Heat? In Texas it's hotter earlier in the summer then ever before. Our beautiful flowers and trees, wildlife, livestock all are suffering so much. Big hug....
