As this blog seems to be "All Gardens, All the Time," I'm just popping in today to show you the rest of the garden from my previous post. As you can see, it is a shade garden with some Japanese influences -- quite different from the English borders near the house. And it is a beautiful sight on a hot summer's day.
My husband and I spent a wonderful weekend up in Connecticut, and I have some fabulous pictures to show you. In fact, I took so many pictures that my right hand is sore from holding my camera! I will be back on Friday to share my special treat with you all. ;)
I love the look of these oriental gardens. Here in the Blue Ridge, there is a renowned man who literally "planted his mountain" which is absolutely magnificent!...:)JP
ReplyDeleteIts beautiful n Natural
ReplyDeleteHow very peaceful and the tranquility emanates through the walk through this garden. Thank you! Cathy
ReplyDeleteLove that little footbridge/walking path surrounded by the irises!
ReplyDeleteThis is one incredible garden! What gorgeous photos you have taken of it too! I think I want to move into this house:)
ReplyDeleteMolly, that was the "bog" garden -- the footbridge went over a very damp area...
ReplyDeleteI love to take a LOT of photos, too! The only time my hubby gets the camera is at the beach! I love gardens that have a natural feel to them! This looks like a beautiful garden to spend time and feel at peace! ♥
ReplyDeleteJapanese-inspired features have long been part of west coast gardens. The one you show is so very lush and full!
ReplyDeleteI love Japanese gardens they are so relaxing. In Holland Park, London there is one and it was my bolt hole when I lost my first husband suddenly in 1996.If I found work too much my colleagues knew where I would be!!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about taking lots of photographs, my hubby and I have just come back from the Normandy beaches and I took about 600 photographs!!
Happy 4th July to you Mary and your family.
Jackie in Surrey, UK.
Absolutely stunning, Mary. It looks so calming and tranquil.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing.
Thank you, Jackie! I can't wait to see your Normandy photos!
ReplyDeleteExtremely beautiful, Mary! I'm thinking as i look at these that I think that the owners of this garden would be thrilled to see these photos - you've captured such a wonderful mood and a bit of rich mystery with them. (Was it cloudy/raining on this day? I'm wondering how you caught this subtle feeling and the deep greens and colors. (I know that there are other ways... - its just aching pretty.)
ReplyDeleteWell, I enjoyed this and the last post of this garden. and, I think that I've turned back into an armchair potato traveler.=]
