Doing Nothing

Just popping in for a quick "hi" and to tell you that I have been busy doing nothing for the past week. And it's been wonderful. lol

Actually, I've been working on some portrait photography for my portfolio. If I can get enough practice under my belt, I'd like to try my hand at doing it professionally. But that's a long way down the road. In the meantime, I've been rearranging some things around the house, thinking about stripping the wallpaper in the kitchen, and wondering if I can renovate the bathroom. I'd love to get my washer and dryer up from the basement. So strictly speaking I guess I haven't exactly been doing nothing.

Anyway, I'm going to let all these thoughts percolate for another week or so. I'll pop in during the week, and hope to see you all again for Mosaic Monday on August 15th.

  1. If this were my house (rather than just me being the caretaker) then I would strip the wallpaper in the kitchen and the breakfast nook. Mary, you would probably love this house where I live.
Isn't the weather this morning delicious? I woke up early thinking I'd go back to sleep but it's just so beautiful. I feel like I'm back in Maine!

And you know how I feel about your Queen Anne's Lace. Love this.

  2. It must be time for change for a few of us Mary.
Stripping wallpaper in the kitchen, adding a new counter and sink are my project for September.
With such a long kitchen, it's crossed my mind to have the washer & dryer brought up too but that will take some thinking about.
    Enjoy your rest.

  7. Good Morning Mary! I'm glad you're enjoying your 'down' time and that you're using that time to think of more things to do. Isn't that the way it goes though! Best of luck with your photography...I doubt you'll need much practice as your photo's are gorgeous already. You should give lessons! Have a wonderful weekend...Maura :)

  14. So hear you Mary...I just spend two weeks, one at the beach...just doing nothing! Just enjoyed being in the moment and not having any plans to go, do, be ANYTHING...we all need that more in our lives. Have a wonderful week, fondly, Roberta

  21. I hate missing your Mosaic Monday parties, Mary. They're one of my very favorites to link to. Hope to get things back to normal when I return from New England and can join in again.

Love, love, love your images for this past MM party. And I must disagree with you. I think you are sooo ready for a profession in photography!

    Have a beautiful week!
