As some of you already know, winter is not my best season. ;) This has been a very cold and snowy season so far, but at least it's been sunny. Here is the latest in my attempts to capture as much sunlight as possible in our Little Red House.
Silver and sunlight -- perfect together! Have a wonderful Wednesday. :)
Oh, how pretty. Maybe that's what I need to do. Go set some of my silver in the window to reflect the sunshine. Maybe that will cheer up my dreary return to winter...
ReplyDeleteI love the soft patina on the silver. beautiful pieces.
ReplyDeletehi mary. i commented about dust(the lack of it) before, when you showed your dining room. now i realize that in winter you dust. that has to be the answer! i am dusting-challenged, but i applaud your efforts: your photos, gleaming and lovely showing light/reflection/sparkles, bring to life your love of what you have. i'm so glad it all gives you such joy, and keeps you happy in your least fave season. plus the rest of us get to see all your lovelies! yea winter! jkj
ReplyDeleteCounting the days until Spring Mary so I feel your pain, I believe the stork dropped me in the wrong place....even when I was little, I didn't like the cold....
ReplyDeleteYou will NEVER hear me complain in the summer I don't care how HOT it gets, you can always cool off in a pool and the AC....you get a chill in the Winter and I don't care how close you put your butt to the fire....there's no getting warm, plus as we get older I am afraid to fall !!
Stay warm friend,
Kathy :)
Ahhhh so relaxing, and visual.

Lovely. We are having lovely sunny (though very chilly) days right now, but we get very little sun. The lovely trees across the street,on a little hill, keep the winter sunshine from reaching our house except for a few minutes each day as the sun peeks through the leafless trees and around the cedar trees. Each minute is beautiful, though only brief, and so appreciated. About April 1 the sun will begin to show over the trees and I am happy when that happens - I can sit on the porch and drink in the sun. We have skylights in two rooms and it is amazing the additional light those let in - making winter not seem so dreary.
ReplyDeleteYou help me see beauty in the simplest of things such as soft light on milk glass, warm sun reflecting off charming silver pieces, nature, and even the Winter that you are not all that fond of. For everything there is a season.
ReplyDeleteMaybe Winter is a time we are supposed to reflect, close the world out and turn inward. Whatever the case, I love you for not dwelling on what you hate about Winter and sharing what you love. It's nice.
Sigh. Thank you for the birthday wishes;)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos, Mary. The silver and crystal in the sunlight give off such a warm glow.
ReplyDeleteNot much sun here across the water. These photos are so warm and beautiful.
ReplyDeleteA little shine and a little sparkle makes us all feel better. Your photos are lovely, Mary.
