Here is another little scene from near my favorite thrift store. Just enough snow to look pretty. I took this last week. By today, we should be in the middle of a big bunch of "wintry mix." We get a lot of wintry mix in New Jersey -- snow, sleet, freezing rain. I don't look forward to it, except maybe that I might be able to get a few pretty ice photos. So I think I'll be sitting in front of the fire today, with a good book and a cup of tea. :)
Stay warm, dear bloggers!
This reminds me of a little New England town, somewhere in Vermont ! I am ashamed to say that I never pictured New Jersey like this beautiful photo - I always pictured big cities and lots of suburbs ! See how wrong one can be !!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful scenic area you live in Mary. So many lovely view to capture. This one is so picture perfect : )
ReplyDeleteLovely--looks like a Christmas card. I am a summer person myself, but a couple of snow days in winter is all we get here in the South, and we just missed the ice storm! I sat in front of the fireplace yesterday with my tea. It was wonderful!
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful it is there!!

When I think of New Jersey, I don't think of these quaint scenes. Guess that my outlook needs refreshing. Gosh, this must be a big old storm if we're both in a snow day and so inspired that we both name our posts "Snow Day." ;>
ReplyDeleteI love that you're enlightening the world on the beautiful places in New Jersey. I was born there and visit often, as I have lots of family there. It's a beautiful state!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Vee. Your photos need to be the posters for NJ!
ReplyDeleteI think I'll do that, too. Right after we shovel out.
ReplyDeleteMary, thank you for helping to improve New Jersey's tarnished image! There are many beautiful places in our state... and how many people know that there are more HORSES per square mile in NJ than in any other state in the USA? Keep the lovely photos coming. And stay warm and off the ice!
ReplyDeleteAs Kelly Ripa always says NJ is known for Jersey corn, Jersey tomatoes (is it also quilting) ???
ReplyDeleteNice photo Mary...
Kathy :)
With kids in NYC and in Chicago, I am always hoping that snow is scenic and cozy to them ... and not just cold and nasty. I'm just wishing they lived at that thrift store. Your photos are fabulous.
ReplyDeleteAnother snow day from school today. I don't have a fire, but am hanging out with a book. It's pretty foggy out there.
ReplyDeleteI like your plan. A good book, fire and tea sound wonderful. I remember that weather. We lived in New York for 2 years, luckily here in Utah we usually just get the snow part.
ReplyDelete*hugs*
Very pretty picture!
ReplyDeleteI'm inside too with a great cup of coffee...and I think today will be a movie day.
ReplyDeleteHi Mary, what a lovely photo of a lovely place! I'll say it again, you take wonderful photographs! Absolutely beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week,
Marilyn
It is wintry mixing here as I read! Enough with the wintry mix already.

ReplyDeleteHave a good day!

Your photo reminds me of the New England area...very nice. I understand the weather is pretty crazy in the states these days, my parents live in Texas and have experienced enough ice to close schools..I love winter but can do without the ice thanks!!! Enjoy your snow day; the fire, book, and tea sound delightful!
ReplyDeleteI like your blog and your photo is beautiful thank you Isabelle
ReplyDeleteOk, I KNOW it is freezing back there..I understand all that..but..you live in an absolute Fairy Land! Just beautiful. Everywhere you go is lovely! I mean ...ok..I have to start appreciating what is good about Californa..um..ok..thinking...um..
ReplyDeleteYep, we have ice today in East Texas. Hot one day and cold another.

What a wonderful photo. I wish it was a little cooler here in my part of the world. Today it is 110F (43C) - way to hot for me

Kudo's to you Mary for letting people see the softer side of Jersey.....Alot of people really don't know what a beautiful state it is....and yes, they do have the best tomatoes on the planet!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! You live in jigsaw country! Just enough snow to make it pretty.
ReplyDeleteThat is so beautiful!!! We are warming up here again. It was almost 70 today. My daffodils are just about to bloom with all this warm weather. They usually don't bloom until mid February!
ReplyDeleteGreat photo and lovely view of beautiful area you live in!
