It's been a dark and dreary couple of days here in New Jersey. Yesterday was one of those days when you need the lights on all day long. When you never really wake up. Blah.
So when I saw these daffodils in the supermarket, I knew they had to come home with me.
Bright and cheerful -- a pitcher full of sunshine. :)
Oh, and do you like the pitcher? Milk glass by Westmoreland. $4. at the thrift store.
You knew I couldn't resist telling you about that, right? ;)

Aren't they beautiful! A few years ago I attended a gathering at a local Quaker church. The church was circular in design and had a skylight. In the center of the church someone had placed a full vase of daffodils and as we silently entered the room the sunbeams were shining on the flowers. It is still one of the most beautiful pictures in my mind and your photos capture the same scene beautifully!!
ReplyDeleteWe've got daffodils just beginning to bloom in our yard. I need to get out there and enjoy them. Right now I have only seen them when I'm going in and out of the driveway for work. Hopefully this weekend.

ReplyDeleteI picked a bunch of daffodils the other day and put them in an old blue Bell canning jar. I sat them on the table and they make me smile everytime I see them.

Yellow is one of my favorite colors and these daffodils are breathtaking. Your photos really capture the essence of their beauty.

ok..this is an honest observation. The thrift stores in the east HAVE to be different than in California. Perhaps there are more of them? Whatever the case, you would not see a price like that on Westmoreland here. Lowest would be $18.00? IF you were lucky. I hope your day is as beautiful as your Daffodils.

They are beautiful Mary! I was tramping around the woods the last nice day to see if anything was pushing up .... but alas, not yet, soon though I am sure. As soon as I see the first green, I pull the forest leaf bed away from them and make circles in the forest floor so I can easily spot them out of the windows. I live for it every year :-)
