Well, I told you that I would be looking for milk glass at the giant rummage sale on Friday, didn't I? So here it is. I know that some people might wonder what I see in this. Actually, I'm not sure... I just know that I love it. ;)
The small candy dish above was $1.50.
The covered dish above was $3. The large vase below was also $3. That grape pattern seems to be a common one on many milk glass pieces.
The urn below was $2. I have another one of the same design, but slightly larger. It's one of my favorite shapes.
Yes, I know. Soon I'm not going to have any room left to store or display these. But until then, I'll snap them up when I see them. :)
Tomorrow, a few more little bits and pieces from the rummage sale. In the meantime, it's supposed to rain for the next three days here in New Jersey. It's OK so far -- it's nice to see how green everything is getting. But by the time Thursday rolls around, I may be climbing the walls.
Just so you know.
FAB U LOUS! I love milk glass too.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! Milk glass has a simple elegance, doesn't it? I've started collecting it now since reading your posts. I've got almost 20 pieces in only a few weeks. It's everywhere now that I'm looking for it, but I never really noticed it much before.
ReplyDeleteWhen you run out of room, you open a delicious little store where you can stage and sell your extras. Sounds like such a fun thing for you...and you hire someone to do the stuff you don't like. I think you like shape as well as color, probably more. Now that's interesting. I'm going to jot that down someplace.
ReplyDeleteYou got some great pieces! I seem to see the same three FTD vases everywhere I go. You always find the unusual and pretty ones:>)
ReplyDeleteI love all your milk glass. My mom has a huge collection and I have always admired it. Four days of rain doesn't sound like much fun but as you said your garden should look lovely after all of that moisture! Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteAt least you have many, many pretties to look at while you are climbing those walls.
ReplyDeleteYou did so well for just one day!
WONDERFUL!!!!
ReplyDeleteGreetings from Hamburg, Germany

ReplyDeleteSpots of sun predicted on Wednesday in NJ!

ReplyDeleteRain here as well...but everything is so green and pretty.
ReplyDeleteWe have some wild violets too in the sideyard ....I love them but hubby is not a fan :) I remember when I was young and I would pick dandelions for my grandparents for dandelion salad.
All the best Mary,
Kathy :)

Thursday? It's beginning to grate on me and it's only Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteNope! I don't wonder why you love that piece, because I love it too. It is such a pretty shape. All of your milk glass finds are wonderful, and you photographed them so beautifully. laurie
ReplyDeleteI like milk glass too. I have a snack set in milk glass and I'm so mad at me because I passed a milk glass pitcher and 6 glasses...just because. They were at a Thrift shop last summer and just a steal. I'll be going to that particular one again in the summer...wonder whether it'll still be there.
ReplyDeletethank you for sharing... I know about running out of room to store and display..fun though isn't it?
I hope you don't get TOO much rain.
Judi
