Tablescape Thursday: Rose Lunch



Well, we finally had a bit of sun yesterday, so I set the table on the deck for a light lunch with my friend, Toni Anne.




Linen placemats with a rose motif are topped by woven rattan chargers. The dinner plates are Baroque, by American Atelier at Home, and the salad plates are Homer Laughlin.




This small lantern was a TJMaxx purchase a few years ago. It has glass sides, which helps when it's a little windy.




There are two small milk glass hobnail vases, filled with roses and lady's mantle. I always find it difficult to create a centerpiece around the umbrella pole.




Linen napkins with mother of pearl napkin rings from Target.




Vintage silver salt and peppers -- 50 cents at a rummage sale.




My everyday flatware, which needs a bit of rubbing up. Waterford goblet, Donegal pattern.

    Mary.. Your photos are always so stunning. Everything is absolutely beautiful.. love the lantern, the Baroque dinner plates and the Homer Laughlin piece. I have one piece of Homer Laughlin that belonged to my grandmother from the early 1900's.

    Oh what a lovely setting on the patio. I love the beautiful dishes and the little vases with the roses are so pretty. LOVE the lantern. I just found 2 at Home Goods, and I love them. YOur table is just gorgeous. Hugs, Marty

    Mary, I gotta tell you...I was at a thrift shop the other day and saw a little tarnished, silver, creamer, knowing that with you as inspiration, I can do something with it! :) This is a beautiful luncheon! Love the roses in the milk glass!

    Just lovely, Mary! I'm glad you were able to include a couple of pieces of milk glass..as it makes it so summery! The little red roses and the lacy greenery together add such a delicate touch. All together it is just charming. A beautiful job! The lantern adds a bit of French ambiance. PERFECT!

    Another beautiful tablescape, Mary. The red flowers, white vases and black candle holder just pop! I found some milk glass pieces in the attic yesterday and posted about them. They made me think of you!

    In my mother's house, you would find boxes of treasured milk glass; all styles, types, kinds. She and my Gram collected it and went to many sales in the finding of it. It think of your love for it as I recall these items in her attic.

    I know what you mean about a centerpiece around the table pole. It's not easy. Yours looks great. I do love that small lantern. I see them all over blogland and they are very versatile tablescape items. I must keep an eye out for one.

    Your table was lovely & I am sure you & your friend enjoyed your dining al fresco! Your little vases were perfect around the pole that worried so about. I wish it werrrre cool enough here to dine out. We are HOT already.

    Beautiful! I love the Homer Laughlin salad plates and your gorgeous crystal! I know your friend must have felt very special dining at such a darling table! The lantern is wonderful...you did great working around the pole! I just bought my first hobnail thingy today...two little candle holders. :-) They say Fenton on the bottom and I was told that's good. I just love how they look. :-) Thanks for a great TT, Mary...always love visting to see what you have in store for us on TT. :-) Susan
