I know there are a lot of you out there who hate to see summer end (and many in the southern hemisphere who are looking forward to spring) but I have to say that I love the change of seasons, especially summer into fall. My husband and I walk a lot on the weekends, and we love to mark the changes in the countryside around us -- the queen anne's lace is beginning to give way to goldenrod, the Canada geese are gathering on the fields, and the wild berries are ripening from red to black.
I also love to bring home something from almost every walk -- a fistful of flowers, or a hickory nut, or some acorns still attached to a leafy oak branch. My treasures sit in pride of place on the window above the kitchen sink -- reminders of the blessings of the seasons.

A very tempting mosaic! Your mosaic is a wonderful celebration of the moment! Love it!
ReplyDeleteWe have much the same landscape as you. I now see goldenrod everywhere and the Canada Geese are flying and honking! I love that sound. Lovely mosaic, Mary.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful mosaic once again - this one is really delicate and somewhat thoughtful and rather artistic in a classical way. It reminds me of being alone and feeling peaceful.. xxx
ReplyDeleteLovely mosaic as always. I enjoy the change of season's too but am always a little reluctant to give up summer.
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting,
Carolyn
I sure wish you and I lived closer Mary. Somehow I think we would get along quite nicely. The way you describe the little things puts into words how I feel.
ReplyDeleteThough I don't usually like music on blogs, the songs you've chosen are so lovely : )

Hi Mary
ReplyDeleteThank you very much for the comment on my blog. I love the idea of the Monday Mosaics which you arrange for us. It is a picture book on other bloggers culture, lifestyle and artistic skills
I am lucky to live so near the Surrey Hills and also the canal, but yes we also have lovely gardens a lot of them National Trust. Even when I lived in London and brought up my children there, we had lots of parks and the River Thames.
Like my husband and I, I see that you and your husband like to go out for walks at weekends, it is a great together time!
Have a good week, see you next Monday. Again thank you very much for Mosaic Monday.
Jackie.
I have so enjoyed your wonderful blog, I have spent about three hrs. going through it, and I love your decorating and also your gorgeous photography! I also have English Country, but yours is so much more charming, and beautiful than mine. I also left a comment on your RMS page.
ReplyDeleteHi puddin07, thanks so much! I haven't visited RMS in ages. Do you have a page there?
ReplyDeleteAh, Queen Anne's Lace. You have taken me back to my childhood pastures. Beautiful photos and montage. (What apps / software do you use to montage your pics?)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite time of year;)
ReplyDeleteYes, my favorite time of year too...but you capture so much better than me! This is a wonderful topic for a mosaic...
ReplyDeleteJust checking in to see how you are doing.
ReplyDeleteMy blog has just been growing like a crazy weed and I haven't been able to get by for as many visits. I miss all my blog friends.
Come for a visit and see both of my new parties for the week. They are up every week and I hope you will participate.
