I wanted to show you this bouquet of flowers given to me by my dear friend, Robin. Aren't they gorgeous? I love them so much that I am moving them from room to room, so I can enjoy them wherever I am.
OK, so I'm a little weird.
One of the strange things about having a presence online is that readers think they know you. Well, let me tell you about the real me: My house is a perpetual disaster area, I live in my sweatpants and fleece sweaters, and I desperately need an appointment at the hair salon.
Desperately.
But I thought it might be nice to learn a little more about each other, so I've shamelessly stolen an idea from my friend Kate, at Chronicles of a Country Girl. Here are five questions. I'll answer them in the comments section and I hope you all will play along, too.

3. Do you feel the need to dress up to go to the supermarket? I never leave the house without make up and I would dress in my usual trousers and top for comfort.
4. What is your favorite comfort food? I have a very sweet tooth so wholenut plain chocolate would be my choice.

ReplyDelete1. Oscar-but I it drives me crazy, I don't want to be so disorganized! I'm actually considering getting a professional organizer to help us. Seriously!
2.It's so bad my mom, MIL and aunt have to come over and be on full alert with me!
3. I go the incognito route to the grocery store, baseball cap and dark glasses, makes me feel like a hollywood star even when I haven't had a shower!
4. Choclolate ice cream is my favorite comfort food. Chocolate anything is close second.
5. A second bathroom would be nice but I suppose that's not just one thing. How about a light fixture for the one bathroom we do have. It's always been just a bulb screwed right into the ceiling.
The interesting thing is, messy people are often just as much a perfecitonist as "neatfreaks". It's kinda of an all or nothing thing. Laundry can be all over the room, the dishes piled in the sink, and I'm fretting over the placement of a picture on the wall....

I would love my craft room to be added on to so it would be about 25 ft. longer, but then a sunroom would be lovely also. Hey, I'm easy. Only want what I WANT, right?! *Smiles*

2.I am never ready for company even though I entertain quite a bit. At least one room always has the door closed and locked when company comes. Somehow I always plan too much for me to do to get ready, like maybe repaint the kitchen the day before. I think my husband is a saint to never blow his cool.
3.I never, never, never feel that I have to dress to go to the supermarket.
4.Homemade soup and french bread. Not too original but I love to make soup.
5.A hot tub would be #1

Oh I forgot to add -- that central AC you want. DO IT! We put it in this house before our first summer here, and wow -- it's fantastic. The installers managed to do it in this crazy old place, unobtrusively, and it was not as expensive as I had feared. We were deciding between AC and a master bath and I am glad we chose the AC.

2. I go into 1 1/2 alert. As I'm getting older I have more of a take me for who I am attitude. Plus, I think it's good for people to see you're not perfect, it puts everyone at ease.
3. It depends on how I feel on the day I'm going out. Some days I want to look my best and other days I could care less. I guess that reveals my moodiness.
4. Love anything chocolate and baked. Fudge cake, cookies, pie...
5. I have a list a mile long so this is a tough one. I think I'll go with granite counter tops in my kitchen.

ReplyDelete1. I am a Felix downstairs and Oscar upstairs. I can't seem to keep both levels clean at the same time, and no one really sees the upstairs but us. One of these days I hope to be an upstairs Felix too.
2. I do get quite frenzied before company. I have people coming Sunday and I've been cleaning for days already. Great motivation! Usually the downstairs is clean and ready for drop-in company.
3. I usually wear makeup and try to be presentable wearing jeans a nice shirt and usually a jacket.

4.actually most food is comforting when I am hungry. When I'm tired and a bit low? cooked pudding - the kind with the skin on top.
5. We have 2 woodstoves - one in the kitchen and one in the family room - but I'd like an electric fireplace for our living room. Or a real fireplace - but that wouldn't be sensible as we'd need another chimney - so electric would work. Or maybe propane.

Since I am a bit of a neat freak, I don't go into red alert before company.
I definitely don't feel the need to dress up before shopping. Our grocery store offers express shopping - place your order on-line, and they bring it to the car.
My comfort food is cheese toast.
I would love to have our shower redone in our bathroom.
