Well, it's definitely winter here in New Jersey. The temps for the past few days have not risen out of the 20's, and with the wind howling it often feels like only seven or eight degrees above zero. We have had snow off and on this past week, too.
I used to hate winter -- the snow, the cold, the ice and wind. Now I find that if I'm dressed warmly enough, it's kind of nice to get out and walk in the sun. And it has a sort of spare beauty that emphasizes light and shadow. And I appreciate the sun so much more when it shines above a landscape of snow and ice. :)
What is your favorite season?

ReplyDeleteHello Mary
ReplyDeleteYour vintage winter mosaic has such a tranquil quality to it.
I agree with you that if dressed warmly enough a walk in winter is pleasant. However, it was -17 C here today and windy so I stayed inside.
I'd have to say autumn is my favourite season because of the colours and earthy scents that fill the air.
Vintage winter should be a new paint colour, you have captured it perfectly Mary. I am looking forward to another year of Mosaic Mondays. Happy New Year, Kathy.
ReplyDeleteAnother gorgeous winter mosaic, Mary!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!

Oh forgot to add .... I'm definitely a spring person (and summer I guess) love the new growth, new geinnings and the regeneration of things .... HOWEVER since my new found love "affair" with photography I find I enjoy all the seasons (maybe not equally) but only because I've learnt to really enjoy the light, the shadows, the colours, the textures etc.etc.etc that each season brings. Keep warm Mary and hope you get to take many, many beautiful wintry shots!
ReplyDeleteGena @ thining aloud

ReplyDeleteWe don't get that here in southeast Georgia.
What a fun idea! I'm not very good at making collages, so hopefully, they'll get better as we go along.

Oh Mary, such beautiful images.
ReplyDeleteYour photography is absolutely lovely! They truly capture the essence of winter. I'm with you, if the sun is shining, I enjoy cold days. It's those cloudy, rainy ones that keep me tucked indoors.
