So, after all the shopping, all the wrapping, all the cleaning, all the decorating, all the cooking and all the baking...
It's over.
And you're left with a pile of empty boxes and leftovers for dinner.
Bah humbug!

Just the thought of shopping makes me shudder....but it's a condition that will pass, I'm sure!
ReplyDeleteHow right you are Mary. I hate to throw boxes away so here I am stacking up my stash of boxes again. Thanks for the tip. Happy New Year to you and yours.

Very true. When I was in one of my cleaning out modes, I pitched some boxes I needed for gifts this year. I have our big dinner coming up this next weekend and will be putting everything away as soon as everyone leaves.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your week.
i'm okay with the after this year. this year was exactly right.
ReplyDeleteHello Mary!
ReplyDeleteOh I know what you mean...such a long exciting build up to the 'big day' and now it's over...almost. It's always a sad time to see the decorations starting to come down but at the same time it's exciting. I'm looking forward to starting a new year...looking forward to new adventures around the farm...new projects. I hope you enjoy the last of this year and all the best to you and yours for 2011!
Maura :)
After rushing around like a madwoman it came together - on Christmas! LOL!!! Talk about being ready just in time! Thankfully my sister (the florist) stopped by Christmas morning and created my centerpiece!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great give-away you are doing. This time of year can be such a letdown, but it can also be a time of renewal. I've been sick so the take-down of Christmas has been rather slow, as in not even close to being finished. Once all that is put away, I give everything a good polishing and view all the empty spaces as blank canvases for me to start creating with. Yes, I like this renewal thing! Happy New Year!
