This has been such a difficult week! Our 16-year-old cat has been very sick, and we had to have her put down on Thursday. I know that most of you will understand how difficult that is -- it's really like losing a member of your family. We are still coming to terms with it, expecting her to walk into a room or curl up on the bed at night...
So for Mosaic Monday this week, I've just got some yellow roses for you. Thank you for continuing to come here each week, and for your kind comments. I love reading about each and every one of you, and seeing a bit of your lives every Monday. :)

So sad for your loss. Our pets work their way into our lives and when they are gone there is a great emptiness, but would not trade the memories for anything!
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Audrey
oh i am SO sorry! how many times i have been there! mine have all been orphans so i try to console myself with the fact that i gave them a good life {better than MANY humans!;} for the years i had them. but even that rings a bit hollow when you "think" you hear their little paws coming down the stairs. hang in there!!!!

Aw Mary, I'm so sorry for your loss. 16 is a good long life but we are never ready to let them go. I remember some of your past posts where you mentioned your cat. I know right now you are sad but think this way..your lovely cat had a good, happy,love-filled life and was, with no doubt, one of the lucky ones. It's all a cat can ask for..one home, one family and a healthy,love-filled existence. I hope soon all the memories of your beloved cat will leave you smiling and feeling happy to have shared your life together. Take care.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about your beloved pet. It is very hard. Just had a one year anniversary of the loss of two grand labs. Just got too old and sick. The yellow roses are perfect for a memorial.

ReplyDeleteDear Mary, I'm visiting you for the first time after hearing about your meme Mosaic Monday from a fellow blogger. I'm so sorry to hear that your family had to make ehe tough decision to put your beautiful cat to sleep. As an animal lover (being faced with that decision before), I know exactly how you feel. May you take comfort from the sixteen beautiful years you had together creating so many magical memories. I hope this week will be a better week! God bless. Love, Kerrie

I'm so very sorry to hear about your cat, Mary. I know exactly how you feel because we have an aging house pet, a dog, and we dread the inevitable time when we will lose him. We lost our first dog in 2000. Your picture of your cat is precious, and your roses are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThank you for hosting every week.

I'm so sorry Mary! She looks so beautiful and curious in this picture and there is your lens in the reflection of her eyes! What a long life she had with you, I'm sure she'll be waiting for her next photo session when you meet again! Take comfort in the memories, healing thoughts are being sent your way!!
ReplyDeleteOh, my dear Mary. I am so sorry to heart about your sweet little girl. This is a lovely tribute, especially combined with the roses.
ReplyDeleteI was over on Brenda's Down Memory Lane and saw her yellow rose post, and mention of your yellow rose post. Beautiful roses and well done. I'm sorry to hear of your loss. It is so very hard to lose our fury friends. We had to put our golden down in 2005, she wasn't even 6 years old, she had cancer. It was a painful loss. The photo of your cat is very unique - especially the eye coloration and reflection. They're so clear. Hang in there - somewhere along the way - that wounded spot and loss will heal and scar over. I don't think it ever goes away but it does get a bit easier with each passing day - though it is certainly not easy. Take care. Jenn
ReplyDeleteI'm really sorry about your kitty. What you did for her is the ultimate expression of your love for her ... it still really sucks, tho ... been there, done that WAY too many times ... I'm sending you a hug.

ReplyDeleteMary, I am so sorry to read that you had to put down your beloved cat. I know the pain as we lost our sweet Calico, Miss Socks, in January. I prayed to God that she would die in my arms in the morning before having to take her to be euthanized in the afternoon. God heard my prayer, too. I miss her so much and so do the dogs. Your yellow roses are gorgeous.
ReplyDeletemuch love and a ((hug)) for you....
