I am, without a doubt, the laziest gardener on earth. I plant and then pretty much abandon. If it returns the following year, Hurrah! Here are some pink clematis, about as big as a softball, which were planted in a pot on our deck last year. They are doing quite well this spring, with absolutely no help from me.
Just thought I'd practice some truth in advertising.
Your clematis is stunning. I have tried to grow it several times, but repeatedly meet with failure.
ReplyDeleteYour abandonment seems to be working. Maybe I should give that a try.
Hi Mary
ReplyDeleteYour clematis is beautiful, mine are just buds right now. I see that your visit with your son and his girlfriend went well. I am in the final week of getting ready for My daughters graduation and open house, so my red alert is still going! Good to catch up with you!
That is certainly a ringing endorsement for neglect:)

The clematis are beautiful! Don't you just love plants that grow on their own.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Donna
Beautiful clematis. I'm with you. I plant them, give them good soil and then they're on their own. I do not baby plant, it just produces needy individuals and there's enough of that around here as it is.

Shhhhh, don't tell your flowers...they obviously don't know this yet!
ReplyDeleteCan I hang out on the bench in your header today? It looks like such a pleasant spot.
That's my kind of gardening. I do go out and weed every once in a while, but that's it. That's all the help the plants get from me.
ReplyDeleteI'd say that's marvelous gardening! :-)
ReplyDeleteBut I'm the laziest.
I let my husband do all the flower cultivation. And I just enjoy them and enjoy taking photos of them. And posting the photos. With credit to him, of course. :-)

Hi Mary,
ReplyDeleteThey are simply gorgeous.... I think I am going to employ your trick of loving abandonment on my flowers as well... :) Somehow, I don't think I would have your charm though...
Thanks for sharing the pictures!
I also neglected mine. Different outcome however!
ReplyDeleteThey are magnificent! Why fuss when ignoring has such wonderful results? :-) Rosie
ReplyDeleteThose are incredibly gorgeous blooms. I too am a lazy gardener. The yard here is so beautiful only because the prior owner spent many hours and obviously many dollars planting and maintaining beautiful flower gardens around the house. She was a genius because something is always blooming!
