Wishing you all a very happy weekend. We're doing the college tour thing again. In Philadelphia again. Boston and D.C. will be later in the year. It will be very quiet here when the Freckled One goes off to college. :(

Have a wonderful time and treasure the moments.
ReplyDeleteAh. Many of my friends and my sister, too, doing the same thing. Sister and niece will be in Collegeville today.
ReplyDeleteExciting times ahead for daughter. Some bitter sweet ones for Mom, me thinks. ((hugs)) Rosie
ReplyDeleteI'll help...both of mine are leaving me this year. Sniff. Sniff. Have a fun trip, though. I love the tour thing;)
ReplyDeleteWe did the college tour thing in Phila. Beautiful town! He didn't choose that school, but we did end up going back for a little visit.
ReplyDeleteBeing and empty nester has been a good thing for us. We treasure the times our son comes home but it has been fun for us as well. It's all good!

Once they do leave, it takes about 6 weeks and then you cant imagine all of the fun things that you will get to do. It is just the natural process of motherhood. About the time you get used to them being gone, here they come again!Have a great weekend.

I love that photo! Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeletehave fun and enjoy - love the tea tray, I'll sit and wait until you return
ReplyDeleteAnd, on the other hand, it will be very quiet there when your darling girl heads off to college. It's not easy thinking of it differently, but it can be rather fun. As I recall, I amused myself by thinking how I was going to use the bedrooms.
ReplyDeleteOh, Mary, it does get quiet when that youngest one flies the coop! It took me awhile to come to terms with the my girls' absence, and also that of their friends who were always popping in and out.
ReplyDeleteBeing empty nesters is also fun, and liberating! When the kids come home for visits, I am always surprised at how much SPACE they take up! It's like having St. Bernard puppies up on the furniture.
(I liked Vee's comment, above. I wonder what she meant by those plans she made for the bedrooms after the kids were gone?)
Meanwhile, enjoy the college visit trips; I loved those. We always rated the schools on how cute the boys were. :-)
Enjoy the weekend!
Cass

ReplyDeleteChange isn't always easy, but it does offer rewards. It must be so wonderful to watch her bloom into her own.
