I had a little fun yesterday playing with the accessories in the kitchen. Don't you think these would all look great with cafe au lait paint?
The wire tree is for Christmas cards, but I like it for it's sculptural quality. I think I'll leave it out for awhile.
Ooooo, I'm really starting to like copper. And nesting chickens are a favorite.
The print belonged to my mother. The trophy was found by my father on a construction job. He was a heavy equipment operator, and dug up cool things all the time.
I also have a thing for old tins. And for birds, and nests. And I have no idea what this post is all about. It's late, and I'm starting to ramble... Sorry.
Peace out.
Thank God I am not the only one up at this ungodly hour. I rattled on in a post..then deleted it. At least yours makes sense. No..it does. Of course it would look good in..that color you mentioned. I forget what you said..but yes. Nite.
ReplyDeleteI just love your photography and all of your kitchen accessories. What a variety and one collection of items and vignette is more beautiful then the next. Thank you for sharing.

ReplyDeleteI love seeing your vignettes. We are trying to finish and decorate an addition - dining area with a small sitting area - weird combination. I love to see all your ideas - it's helping me immensely!
ReplyDeleteSweet items... all make a great kitchen setting on a sideboard... love it! Especially the trophy!

ReplyDeleteHello Mary, what an exciting undertaking! Your kitchen is lovely as it is, and a new look would be super awesome for you huh! Have a great rest of the week...
ReplyDeletewhat a fun "kitchen". i write it that way because it doesn't look like a kitchen. you have so much space to use for non-kitchen work. amazing! i like the cafe au lait idea. jkj
ReplyDeleteI love your kitchen as is. I can tell you want a change though and I know it will be beautiful when you are finished. I love the old trophy your dad dug up! That is so amazing that he would find something so beautiful in the dirt!
ReplyDeleteMary, your photography awes me! It's only equaled by your sense of placement and design. Really excellent.
ReplyDeleteAs for color ... I think a warm cafe au lait would look good provided the room has enough natural light. If it's light deprived, then I would go a shade lighter than the cupboards, to reflect more light. Whatever you choose, send pictures!
I always love it when you show photos of your warm, inviting kitchen. I'm sure that whatever you choose will be lovely. Please share more pictures of your home. Sally
ReplyDeleteMary....your home just keeps getting better and better...I do love that Best in Show trophy....
ReplyDeleteI love the tree!!
ReplyDeleteLove the litle chicken and nests you have collected. I just one at Canton a few weeks ago, for Easter decorating. Love your blog,
ReplyDeleteLorri

Yay! You've decided upon cafe au lait! I love all the stuff you have around your house. This is fun. I find it interesting that you switch around your curtains, too.
ReplyDeleteIt all looks so beautiful! Now I want to go rearrange everything in my kitchen!
