Down the Road

I've been doing some more drive-by shooting -- photographing houses and barns in the area.  This farm is actually right down the road from my house.  There are open fields across the road.  Unfortunately, there are plans to build houses there, although I'm not sure when.  Perhaps the economic downturn has delayed building.  In a way, this could be viewed as a small silver lining, although with so many people out of work I think it's hard to justify saving open spaces right now.

OK, enough serious stuff.  It's a beautiful sight, and let's just enjoy.  :)

  1. How peaceful.

It is bittersweet, isn't it? Getting to keep the view, but not having the workforce busy. I keep praying that something changes to help the economy.

  3. A beautiful sight indeed. Here in Virginia developers cut up gorgeous pieces of land into tiny lots with huge houses.. They did the same thing in Arizona... ugh.

  5. I was walking my neighbourhood yesterday, And my absolute favorite lot, the one on a corner, overlooking the ocean, was all torn up. It had a amazing long winding driveway hidden by trees, and shrubs, mysterious. Now that is all gone, and there is a skeleton of a house, a gigantic monstrosity of a house in it's place.

    What can I say?

  8. How lovely. I hope that the building plans are delayed, or at the very least, the homes are smaller and less intrusive.

Keep documenting this lovely landscape! We may not have many of these vistas for long, especially here in New Jersey.
    Thanks -- Cass

  13. Very beautiful indeed, a very atmospheric picture.

It would be a shame to build new houses there ( even though I hear what you are saying) unless there was a 100% garantuee that people would move in there...otherwise it would just be a loss of a beautiful scene.
