At least I hope that's all, because I haven't gotten him a gift. :0
And my kids aren't around to do the subtle questioning thing -- "Dad, did you get Mom anything for your anniversary?"
That's my mom's dress, by the way. We found it in the attic, stuffed into an old pillowcase. Yes, I come from a long line of hoarders and recyclers. lol
Anyway, wish us happy. I'm looking forward to another 30 years. :)
We just celebrated our 25 years together, and I can't wait to see what is meant for us ahead (I hope many more) so I can relate with your feelings so well. Happy Anniversary!

Happy Anniversary and many more Mary! I wondered if that was your mothers dress when I saw it, it is lovely! We still have a year to go before we hit 30 years together. We usually head out to a beautiful B&B for the weekend to celebrate anniversaries. I hope you have a wonderful evening together:>)
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary, and wishes for many more years filled with love, friendship and joy.
ReplyDeleteYou are such an attractive couple. The dress is exquisite. Do you think your daughter will wear it one day?
We very seldom give each other gifts any more. We have all we really need and want. But, there is no one I would rather be with than my husband.
Such a lovely picture--that dress is amazing! I'm just realizing that I did NOT get pearls on our 30th anniversary! Oh well, we don't do gifts either, but celebrate with dinner at our favorite restaurant.

ReplyDeleteI just celebrated my 34th but on our 30th we were contemplating taking a trip until our daughter got engaged 8 months before our anniversary. Consequently, any money we had squirreled away for a trip went towards a wedding. We had a great time at her wedding though so it was a memorable year.

Well my mother had me try hers on and I just fell in love with it, it was in perfect condition it was all lace with little buttons up the back, I went right back and took my dress off hold, I remember it was 700.00 dollars a HUGE sum in the day...

Wishing you a wonderful anniversary! Your dress is gorgeous. I wanted to wear my mother's dress when I got married, but I was bigger than she was. Her train was all lace, so we used the lace from her train to outline my veil.

Jult GIVE AWAY all month
Belated anniversary greetings, Mary. And, yes, may you have another wonderful 30 plus more together. I love your mother's dress and it was so sweet that you wore it. I always dreamed of wearing my dear mother's dress but I wasn't very old when I realized that I was not as teeny, tiny as she and there would be NO way I could ever hope to wear it. I made my dress and, looking back, I wish I had copied her dress and made one to fit me! Oh well, too late we get wise. Hope you had a wonderful memory-filled day! ~Adrienne~
ReplyDeleteMary, Happy Anniversary! How nice for you to have worn your mother's dress. You both look radiant, full of hope, and HAPPY!

Congrats! It was my anniversary too (only 14 years LOL) and we celebrate pretty much the same way. Nice dinner out. We eschewed gifts long away, they just made stress and detracted from the day. Hope you have many more happy years together!....Terrie in Massachusetts
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on 30 years Mary! We're coming up on our 39th this September. Your wedding dress is awesome! How nice you could wear your Mother's dress.

I am so, so sorry to be late with this wish! I loved the photo Mary! Gosh. Were all of us ever that young? Okay, YOU still are! We will celebrate our 31st this year and it sometimes seems to have flown by so quickly...it doesn't seem so in the day to day fuss and putter but in looking back. Where do all the years go? But isn't it sweet to share them, and the memories, with the one you love.
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary and may you have 50 more!
Love,
Sue
