Birds In The Kitchen

No, not the real kind. But I'm forever enamored of birds in art and craft. So when I saw this cute little covered dish at Homegoods a while back, I just couldn't resist.

You've seen the pheasant tureen before, and I have told you how much I love dishes with a lid. So really, this little covered dish just had my name on it. Right?

  8. I adore your new little dish - that sweet little bird on the lid is wonderful.

I have a hard, hard time controlling myself when it comes to any kind of dishes or glassware.

  11. I often have real birds in the kitchen! I feed the garden birds at different points in the garden and have a feeder near the back door. Sometimes greedy doves pop in to see if any seed fell on the kitchen floor. Rather a risky business with two Labradors living in the house! Eleanor at Thatchwick

  14. HI Mary,
I love Home Goods stores! I always find something I just *have to have* in them too. :-)
Those are darling tureens. I'd love to know where you store all your beautiful things, also. My Brooklyn house it too small.... I ahve to store extra post and dishes in the basement :-(

Thanks for your cookbook comments on my blog. :-)
My hubby is actually quite tolerant of anything I cook, but if I want to make him really happy a Calabrian style meal make his heart sing.

    Have a good weekend!

  15. I don't know what "Home Goods" stores are.....a thrift store?

Your bird-lidded dishes are lovely, and what a good specific item to collect.....you always know what to look for.
