More Thrifted Silver

Yes, my cabinets are bursting at the seams, and no, I don't really need another silver -plated sauce boat, but damn! I just couldn't resist. I do, actually, bring stuff to the thrift store, too, so give me a break here. Sheesh. Besides, this wasn't really a planned trip to the thrift store. It just kind of happened when my friend, Robin, and I decided to walk at a park nearby. I swear.

The larger sauce boat is new; the smaller one I found a few weeks ago. Each about $3. Can you say "collection?"

I'm not sure what this tiny pitcher is -- maybe a creamer? I just loved the shape of it.

What is this silver oak branch for? I haven't the slightest idea, but I think it will look nice on my Thanksgiving table.

Today, Robin is dragging (um, I mean accompanying) me to the antiques market at Lambertville, NJ. But it was all her idea. I swear.

Oh, and Happy Halloween to all the little ghosts and goblins out there! This is for you! :)

  1. Don't worry, none of us can judge you! I'll bet all of our cabinets are full to the brim, and yet the lure of thrifting, yard sales and antique/flea markets is just too irresistable.

We should form a support group...oh, wait, we already have, it's called blogging! LOL!

Hope you enjoy your new treasures, I love the detail on the creamer:)

Happy Halloween to you as well and thank you for the yummy treats.

  2. Heaven forbid that I cast the first stone here, Mary. With so many collections of my own, I totally understand the words, "OOOO, I HAVE to have THAT!"
Having more almost like it doesn't even enter into the decision to buy it and give it a home!! LOL
I do love your pitchers and gravy boats and I still love that green tray in the background !!!
    Happy Halloween,

  5. More beautiful silver but I must say I was also admiring that pretty tray behind it. If there is no 'function' to the silver oak branch then being beautiful is the function. I used to work in a castle and there are many pretty pieces of silver that are set on the table just for decoration. There are things like birds too which you would love. It is from a time when a table could not be pretty enough.

    Happy Halloween!

  6. Thanks for the pictures. Some of those silver pieces are so interesting. My husband and I are slowly collecting some nice silver pieces, but we're really trying to find nice unique pieces. Silver is so pretty.

Just found your blog, and I had to leave a comment.

  14. Oh it's not your fault at all (grin)...there is a magnetic pull outside of any thrift store and it is useless to fight it. I've tried, believe me. I love that little silver leaf bunch with the acorns!

  19. I am loving all of these little pitchers/gravyboats! I have an unofficial pitcher collection, and I feel that I now need to add some silver to it! I may get out to the thrift stores today! In any event, it inspires me to post photos of my pitchers. They are so fun...and functional too! :) Thanks for popping by my blog...see you around blogland!
