Are you hoping for a white Christmas this year? I understand that you all down in Texas had a taste of the white stuff already. ;) We had our first snowfall here in New Jersey on Saturday, with giant flakes falling at dusk and into the night.
I've been editing some snow photos I took last year at my favorite park, Natirar. I guess you could say that I've been on a vintage black and white kick, with just the tiniest bit of color. If you want to see the landscape photos full size, head on over to my other blogs, In a Soft Light and Simple Things, by clicking on the names in the navigation bar below my header. But before you do that, leave me a comment here and tell me if you think you will be having a white Christmas.
Now let's have some mosaic fun! Here are the instructions:

ReplyDeleteBeautiful Mary! Love the feel of this. That touch of snow we had was perfect! ~jeanne
ReplyDeleteMary, I have the wrong link up, sorry, don't know how that happened! http://mypaintingroom.blogspot.com/2009/12/cats-tree.html

ReplyDeleteI don't think we can ever anticipate a White Christmas here in San Diego!!!
Hi Mary
ReplyDeleteThis mosaic is so pretty, sparkly and tranquil looking - all at the same time.
It is snowing here in Ontario as I type and very cold out! Yup, I think we're in for a white Christmas and I wouldn't have it any other way.
Judith
Your pictures are stunning. I love the look of the icy cold snow and the trees all frosty, and your stering in the cup is gorgeous. Beautifully done. Hugs, Marty

ReplyDeleteMary, you have outdone yourself with this mosaic! These images are so incredibly beautiful. I think we will have a white Christmas (it's the only time i wish for snow). I have been drawn more and more to the simplicity of white this year. So peaceful and yet the shadows and different ways the light hits it changes it so it is never boring.
ReplyDeleteMary, your mosiacs ALWAYS take my breath away...this one is just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteSusan
I think this has to be one of my favourite mosaics you have created Mary, it's stunning. No snow here in the bay area but Tahoe is only a

ReplyDeleteQMM
This is just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteYes, I live in the Houston area and things were crazy down here. We're just not used to driving on icy roads, there were a ton of wrecks. I teach school and parents were taking kids out left and right to play in our Texas "snow"!
Thanks for hosting this event, it's always so much fun to see what everyone creates.
Winter is beautiful to behold.
ReplyDeleteyour gorgeous mosaic will be as close as i get to a white christmas in southern california, but it is so pretty that i will enjoy it just as if i were in the white stuff! of course, in true socal spirit of the season, a house down the street from mine has a little snow machine that makes fake snow fly on weekends, so i can bundle up in my eddie bauer karakoram (sp)from 1973 and imagine... jkj
ReplyDeleteMary, I agree with Kathy...this is one of my favorites you've done...something about it snaps me right back to my grandma's at Christmas...Your winter park scenes are to die for!
ReplyDeleteMary, Your snowy mosaic is just beautiful! I'm from the north so my white Christmas will have to be in my memories this year, since I live in Florida now. My children have never seen real snow. I feel so guilty. Every child should see it and play in it. Maybe next year:)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteWe had a wonderful snow fall her in PA too. Just enough for an early snow!
oh, i hope i don't have a white christmas! LOL i don't like the stuff personally. it's pretty and all that but causes too much havoc here.
ReplyDeletebeautiful shots
Oh Mary -- this one's a keeper :)
ReplyDeleteSimply stunning.
Unlike others I really do enjoy snow. I like how it slows us all down and puts a quiet paul over so much of a busy world.
Thanks as always!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful white Christmas mosaic, with the snowy landscapes, flowers and vintage things. It won't snow at our house, but we might get to see a dusting of snow on the mountaintops.
ReplyDeleteAll I can say is WOW!!! B : )
ReplyDeleteThis mosaic reflects the spirit of the season. Well done.
ReplyDeleteMary,
ReplyDeleteWhat glorious mosaic. I love how you picked up the patterns and the tint on these photographs are beautiful. The song, the photographs all set such a lovely cozy mood.
Karen
Mary, this is a beautiful mosaic! I love the b&w! I am looking forward to a photo excursion soon {but it's getting cold, brrr!} and hope to play at MM soon!
ReplyDeleteSnow is in the forecast, however just rain so far....but if that temperature drops-we could get lucky! :)
Michelle
I love the vintage look you created. Those photos are pretty enough to be in a book of art.
ReplyDeleteWe had so much snow in our area last year that I couldn't pile it any higher...mind you I'm only 5 feet tall. It snowed every day for a month or so.
It is freezing temperatures here now but I sure hope we don't get the snow again. I our part of B.C. we rarely do have a white Christmas.
Made me shiver to see the pictures this morning! We missed out on the snow...so far...but it's plenty cold here in Arkansas this morning. I love the white stuff, it means a I get to stay home and make soup, everything stops. I need to get moving on my shopping this week and get it all done...just in case we get snowed in!

ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing your other photos but first...we had flurries but nothing to stick. Just a little too far down in Texas. Love your images for today.

ReplyDeleteMary, that is stunning! It gives me chills, in more ways than one.
ReplyDeleteAs for a White Christmas... who knows? We had a White Second Sunday in Advent, so anything is possible. If we do, I want TIDY snow, not big massive dirty piles of it, and no ice. There, I've placed my order!
Again -- you just get better and better at your photography. Gorgeous.
Cass
Mary, I am late, but I made it!

Ah Mary, Australian's only dream about this type of Christmas from story books ... we are expecting high summer weather with beaches, barbeques and sunscreen as usual.
ReplyDeleteA lovely winter white mosaic. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteGwen
What is it about the lack of color that makes a photo seem so vivid? Pretty! And I think we are going to get started on our white Christmas later on today :)
ReplyDeleteIce, crystal, silver. Lovely counterpoints to the wintry landscapes and flowers. A moody mosaic.
