How is it that one single holiday can create so much mess? I'm in the throes of Christmas decorating, and my house looks like a bomb went off in a Michael's store. But then you've got to break some eggs to make an omelette.
I'm woefully behind on visiting all of your mosaics this week, and I apologize. But I will get to them, I promise! In the meantime, I've got to clear off my dining room table, and get cracking on that "omelette." ;)
Please join me for Mosaic Monday this week! Mr. Linky will be up by 8:30pm Sunday. I look forward to visiting you soon! :)
I can tell that I'm not the only one creating beauty out of chaos!Fun isn't it?
ReplyDeleteSee you on Monday.
Maggie
I wish I was at your house. Mine is woefully devoid of decorations. I keep thinking I will get to it. But things keep coming up.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean, everything is upside down and just think in a couple of weeks we put it all back...
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Donna
I bet you make great omelets!
ReplyDeleteI don't even have a tree yet. It seems like just yesterday I was saying it's too early to start decorating. Where does the time go?! At this rate I'll be ready by New Years Eve!
Have a great weekend!
Cindy
Hi Mary,
ReplyDeleteI know just what you mean about breaking an egg, my house looks like a mess too.
That photograph is lovely. Happy weekend.
Karen
Hang in there, Mary..it will get better...promise!!
ReplyDeletexo bj
ahh yes...loks much the same right after New year's day when it all comes down!!!
ReplyDeleteOh Mary, you sound so much like me! I'm still breaking eggs too, and I am overwhelmed. I am wondering why I do this to myself, and I wish while I was doing it I would keep in mind that it all has to come down after Christmas! laurie
ReplyDeleteMary,
ReplyDeleteLove your analogy!
I've never heard that before!
And my mama had TONS of "funny sayings!"
Holiday hugs,

Yup ... this is certainly true. I suggest you slow down ... try to relax and savor it all. As for blog visits ... it might be time to cut yourself some slack (as my brother used to tell me when I tried to do too much) and realize real life IS more important than the 'virtual' one ;-)
ReplyDeleteHugs and blessings,
just had to stop by for a quick visit and see what you were up to...decorating i see...and lovely i am sure! same here for messes...i make a mess, clean it up, the pets make a mess, i clean it up, hubs makes a mess and i clean it up...just worse during the holidays. i am off to a session, have a great day and looking forward to the "omelet"
ReplyDeleteThe Chaos of Christmas. Isn't there a book on how to avoid it? Mine would be 'Procrastinators Rejoice!' with tips on how to avoid the early decorating and just throw things up at the last minute to condense the craziness into a day instead of weeks.
ReplyDeleteHello Mary....your bomb going off in Michael's comment made me chuckle. All the mess will be worth it in the end, when everything is up and beautiful! Sincerely, Susan from writingstraightfromtheheart.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteHi Mary
ReplyDeleteYes, the break reminder is a good one!
Break those eggs Mary! It's going to be a yummy omlette :)
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Dena
Oh Mary I know....I actually hate the mess but love the end result....I put on my Xmas music and just get cracking on that omlette LOL
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas sweet friend,
Kathy :)
This time of year tends to do that to us...
ReplyDeleteBrenda
that's a lot of the reason i haven't done anything yet - the mess. I have to convince myself tomorrow
ReplyDeleteHello Mary,
ReplyDeleteYour blog, and home, are beautiful, warm and so peaceful. They reflect the time, care, love and effort you have put into them. Both are a pure joy to view.
Thank you for sharing and you defiantly have another ... follower.
I wish you good health and heaps of happiness until next time.
Oh yea I had the same mess yesterday. But guess what, my hubby cracked the eggs....made me a wonderful diner. So all I had to do was sit in the middle of my mess and relax for about 15 minutes to continue and finish decorating the tree. And I'm done, it turned out beautiful.
ReplyDeleteWelcome, Lynda! And thanks so much, everyone. :)
ReplyDeleteLynda ~ Enjoy your humor ... & wandering thru your blog.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas, TTFN ~Marydon
The omelette saying is one of my Mom's favorites and I try really hard to remember it. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a GORGEOUS photo for this post!! You have such a lovely, warm home!
ReplyDeleteI kinda liken it to giving birth...the burden of doing all that we have to do...then push..push..push...then finally the pain is over, and we get to enjoy the beautiful results of our labor...
ReplyDeleteIf we don't pass out....grin!!!
Merry Christmas to you and yours...
